Wizard - you and I used to be bed buddies and now i have two threads where we don't agree 100%. we've lost that loving feeling!

I don't disagree w/ you, but if you talk to Lou (Bellanger) he says that his headers are coated and that you don't need the shields. on the other hand, i always run w/ heat shields. i'm not willing to take that risk...

can we both be right?

Or, put another way, how many header fires have you seen in your time? If the count is more than zero, then I recant and one should ALWAYS use heat shields.

;)

> JD I am straight, not sure what your looking for? :p

> Yes Lou can build GREAT headers but heat is a killer! Coating is a waste of money! :curse:

> Only one can be right! :nana:

> No heat shiels: One total loss, one took over $2000 for repairs {engine harrness, heater motor & re-painting valve covers, three replacing heater motors and repairing wiring] But hey last week "i codnt sperl mer-kan-ik now i r one"

You guys do what you want, just remember you'll have a "I told you so" coming!! :buttkick:

i wouldnt pressure wash it. the added pressure can only do bad things. just use the same type of soap and water ya use on the outside of the car and rinse well. if ya have a VEC2, keep the water from hitting it.
