This week I finally had the chance to visit the hollowed ground from which my GTS came 2 years ago-Woodhouse. I was in Omaha on legal business and popped in on Bill and Bob. I know many of you have been there but for those of you who have not, you should go.
Blair, Ne ( I hope I don't offend Bob/Bill) is the definition of the "middle of nowhere". My guess is that there are only a few thousand folks there. However, if you added the Woodhouse cars and trucks to the population from Bob's huge dealerships you might reach 7 digits. If I was ever in the truck market, it would be the first place I would turn .
The highlight of any trip to Woodhouse is the tour of the snake pit where dozens of Vipers reside--be still my heart. What a candy store! I felt the urge to get a case of Zaino and spend the rest of my life there.
Bob and Bill were as I expected- down to earth and very accomodating. I recall that when I bought my GTS it was a typical Pemberton deal--he had no idea what my RT trade was gonna be like other than my word ,and I had no idea what the GTS would be like other than his word. I was more than happy with the deal.
After I left the dealership I was struck that it might have been the first time I have been to a dealership where no one tried in the least to sell me a car. Bob and Bill seemed genuinely pleased that a Viper owner from Richmond Va had come by to say hello. I am still warming up to the SRT, (I have to say seeing the silver ones Bob had impressed me), but if I was to buy a new snake, there is no doubt it would be coming from Blair.
