I am having nitrous(direct port with fuel system) installed on my car. I was told it would take 2 days tops, and was quoted a price after the tech looked at all the parts and my car. Well I took the car in on the 1st and I still dont have my car and it might be ready by saturday, but no promises?? Am I obligated to pay for the extra time this is taking them since they knew what they were getting into?? Also, the tech said he would get to my car on his free time when he wasnt working on other cars that are coming in that were scheduled?? What would you do?? Shouldnt somebody be working some overtime??
Thanks for the advice, just want me car and don't like being told lies.

Hmmm, advise will vary from one extreme to the other I would imagine. Things do come up, stuff happens...and you should at least get a warm-fuzzy feeling from the guy who has your car. :( I'd like to say "be patient", but it is somewhat obvious that you are not comfortable with the situation. My two techs do an amazing job of keeping me in the loop when they have my car..so I have no problem being patient when things come up.

As for $$$$....you paid for a job. Their incentive to make more $$$$ is to do it as quickly as they can. By draggin it out, or taking more time, they eat into their profit $$$.

Its not that im not patient, it's that he said he will work on it when he has free time, but he has to work on the new cars that are coming in so the schedule doesn't get screwed up, which I think he should be working extra ******* mine to get it out....the point is hes not working on it right now, its just sitting...

It is hard to find a good tech out there, even harder to find somebody that will install nitrous. Did you get a written estimate? If so, show it to them and ask what the problem is. I had nitrous installed and these guys are so meticulous about their work they had my car for a week. They only worked on it at night but the install is the best I have seen. You get what you pay for, I guess is what I am saying. Some people just don't give a crap, others do. It is our job to find the best qualified people to work on our cars and that is hard to do these days. Good luck.
