Need help with fan switch

I just bought a 03 with 3500 miles, blower fan sometimes comes on. I start the car, turn blower fan on, it works. Drive a while and it stops working. Stop the car, turn key off. Restart car and fan works. What is causing this, has this happened to others?

what is your engine temp?

Temp is good, fan in the cabin is not working that blows the heat and AC.

could be a bad relay.

I would start with pulling the blower motor out and seeing how free it spins. If it is binding then you will need to replace the motor. They seem to get water in them and cause them to get corrosion and bind up.
