need help with partsrack smooth tubes install?

just received my parts rack smooth tubes and k&n filters. thanks for the quick and prompt service. the k&n's are alrady in but really wondering how chrome smooth tubes are suppose to fit? they barely fit inbetween the airbox pipe and the throttle body. how are the rubber reducers suppose to fit? any help with this install would be greatly appreciated. alo do the stock clamps work or do i have to purchase new clamps?

i am mechanically inclined but these things just don't seem like they are made to fit.

any pics of the finished install would be greatly appreaciate and also any install advice.

You will need to cut them down to fit.

On my neighbor's 2000 they fit nice and snug with zero cutting. Call Jon at Partsrack.

what about the clamps?
will the stock ones work or new ones?
instructions would have been nice as these are obviously not made to fit without modification of the parts supplied.

They are designed to fit without clamps. Many of the tubes were manufactured too long and have to be cut down. I cut mine by a good inch or two and they are still tight.

just don't really get the point of making and selling something that does not even come close to fitting. its literally 1mm on each the throttle body and airbox tubes. should not have to cut something that is sold and made to fit. will have to cut at least 1 to 1.5 inches in total to get them to fit.

15 minutes project just got a bit longer.

hey man just a quick question for you tottaly off topic...is your viper an acr?? I've seen a yellow/black acr driving around before in richmond...

nope. not and acr. regular gts. funny, i have yet to see another yellow/black stripe in vancouver. appx only 5 or so came to canada. you live in richmond?

no i don't live in richmond but I've seen a yellow/black acr in richmond, at ubc, downtown robson, and in langley never a regular gts so far! Don't know if its the same guy though that I've seen in all these different places!
