Not much interest from the members up to this point so I have just made an enquiry at the Prestige Lakeside Resort to see if we can get the same rates as last year; $ 199.95 for a queen lake view room; very deluxe accommodation. The Queen City Cruise is very popular with all car clubs so the Hotels may already be booked.

The trip from Calgary is 7 hours via the Crowsnest Pass and Highway 3; the trip from Kelowna is 5 hours via Highway 3 so we would travel on Friday mid morning.

At this time the weather looks good; sunny and 24 degrees.

We will wait until the weekend before making a final decision; however the Resort has 48 hour cancellation policy so you can book and cancel by September 4th.

Would be great to have 4 to 6 cars for the weekend to make a decent Viper showing. Pass the word.

I will keep everyone posted.

Ron, what kind of time are you planning to leave Red deer at and which day?? If I can come I will try to leave Edmonton early enough to meet up with you in Red Deer for the drive out.

I have confirmation on the room rates for the Prestige Lakeside Resort; which is the best property in Nelson by a big margin. The rates are actually lower than last year.

Quoted rates:

Please make reference to the Viper Club of America and quote my name as reference.

For the dates of Sept 7th and 8th we would be happy to offer you the following room types at the following rates:

- King Lake View (2 left) $186.96
- Queen City View (1 left) $144.46
- 2 Queens City View (3 left) $161.46
- Queen City View Prestige Level (4 left) $186.96
- King City View Prestige Level (2 left) $203.96

These rates are based on double occupancy and do not include taxes.
Please note that Prestige Level rooms have upgraded amenities and include breakfast for each guest each day. Guests staying in these rooms have a late check-out of 1pm.

As noted I will wait until the weekend to make a final decision, it will be based upon having a minimum of 4 cars confirmed to attend the event.

Please do not hesitate the Queen City Event is a lot of fun and the Hotel is top notch, right on Kootenay Lake!!

I just booked a room for the Friday and Saturday nights; should arrive in Nelson about 5:00 PM Friday; see you at the Resort. I would suggest we have a casual dinner Friday night leave the cars in the Valet lot right in front of the Resort and walk up to the Hume Hotel; which is mid town.

That was quite a ride; good work saving yourself and the car!! You survived your first snake bite very well.

We certainly had our share of technical issues with cars this weekend no question.

On the brighter side I would say the Queen City Cruise Event was a success and everyone enjoyed their time in Nelson.

I will leave the decision making to the group whether or not we return next year.
