Hi Everybody,

I have finally bought a Viper and just wanted to introduce myself. However, first, I would like to thank everybody for all of the great information on the RT/10 and GTS Discussions Forum. I have been reading your Forums since JUL 03 and have learned a great deal.

I have been interested in Vipers since they first came out. I used to own a red '95 & '97 Z28 Camaro's (had the Corvette Engine). I then graduated to the '99 Nassau Blue Hatchback Corvette and a '01 Yellow Convertible Corvette.

I just bought a '97 Blue with Stripes GTS Viper. The car had 30K miles when I bought it in late DEC 03. I have to say that I absolutely love it. It has been by far the best car I ever had. I grew up with the old muscle cars in the '70's and '80s. The Viper reminds me of the way a muscle car should be built.

Below are the following modifications. Please bare with me as all of the mods were done prior to my purchase. Also, I am still learning all of the proper terms.

- Lowered an 1" with an Eibach Suspension kit
- Short shifter
- Smooth tubes
- Exhaust System
* High flow headers
* High flow cats
* Larger pipes from exhaust manifold to the tips (I think they are 3" pipes, but not exactly sure)
* X-Pipe before exhaust tips
- Tinted windows
- 19" 547 HRE Rims (All four wheels)

Thanks,
Viper_Bitten

Way to go, you got a sweet car. Remember, just keep it straight when you floor it and everything else takes care of itself. Welcome aboard!

Hey Stu Man, welcome to the world of owning one of the most powerful cars on the planet. I bought my Viper a little more than a year ago and LOVE every minute when I am driving it. I am new to this site though, just signed on yesterday. So, hello to you and hello to all my Viper counterparts.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome and thanks PBJ for posting the pic. Wasn't sure how to do that yet.

Don't worry, I solemnly swear to take good care of her and always keep her clean to the best of my ability :)

Yes, everytime I drive her once a week (weather permitting), I also wash and throw on a quick liquid wax on her to keep her shiny. I find cleaning the car almost as fun as driving her.

One intersting note as a new Viper owner. I quickly learned the C5 drives very differently than the Viper. Even with P345 tires, she will not hesitate to break loose. Even in second gear. You don't have all of the C5 creature comforts like antilock brakes, traction control, and active handling control system. That is okay by me. Just means more practice. That is half the fun. Besides, it takes real skill to drive without all of the fancy gadgets. Luckily, I learned and owned numerous rear wheel drive cars.

I am originally from Long Island, NY and currently reside in VA.
