Well not to be argumentative, BUT....there have more than a few people with 08-09's who tried using the Chryler Ipod interface and NO GO. There where changes in the computer system for the Gen IV's. For whatever reason some 08-09's get away with it and others don't. Unfortunately if you are in the latter group you run the risk of toasting some expensive electronics. Dodge does NOT recommend installation of the Ipod adapter in the Gen IV. Chuck Tator spent some serious hours trying to get mine to work. Luckly my 08 "only" lit up like a Xmas tree and all electronics became disabled. Maybe Mark from Woodhouse will chime in here, he has also commented on this problem.

This is correct, however NO Viper to my knowledge has ever been "damaged" by an iPod kit. It is simply a bus communication fault, and will go away as soon as the kit is removed if it is an affected car.

There is indeed a car that has been damaged by an iPod kit, however it was a Chrysler 300 if I recall, and it was not an iPod integration kit, it was the Mopar Direct Powered FM Modulator kit, requiring splicing into the factory harness. Either way, it was a different animal.
