First, I would like to thank Doug Levin,Steve Ueligger,TOOOFST and David Wilks for all the helpful info. The N/X wet 200 shot did the trick. Nothing like a Stock looking R/T 10 yanking 9 sec mustangs down the tollway. Ease to install, very cost affective. Now where that HMS car here in town that was talking smack a few weeks ago????

I never actually raced the Supra. He got caught in a light and we thought he just decided not to race. DPS decided they wanted to come too, so the racing pretty much came to a stop.

Just a question. Shouldn't the bottle be pointed towards the front so that the pu tube is at the lowest point farthest back so it doesn't **** empty pockets? When the bottle runs low, isn't there a possibility of not getting a steady stream of nitrous.
BTW did you actually beat a 9 sec Mustang? I know that getting into the nines is really tough and that most guys doing it are running drag tires and running about 800 plus hp

Can you give the details of components and overall cost?

That looks like a 2001 yellow (as opposed to a 95 or whatever), do you have any concerns with the pistons with a 200hp shot?

BTW, the sig saids 00 black GTS, so where did the 01 yellow RT/10 come from?

Its on my buddy's 01 R/T 10. We have ran these kits on a couple of 00, 01. I believe the 00 GTS went through 40 to 50 bottles no problems. Total cost for the kit is under $800. Very easy to install. The only fabed part is the center solenoid bracket.

A mustang needing 800Hp to run in the 9's , where have you been. I have seen Stangs with right at 600Hp run into the 9's with a good sixty foot. Its much harder for a 9 second mustang to hook up on the street. We would have been toast if we ran him at the track. The street is a whole different story.

Veranus, The bottle doesn't have to be pointed towards the front. It is preferred, but it's not mandatory. If you notice, I have a 15lb bottle and it's a little too long to face towards the front. It's not making enough power for me to bother with when the bottle gets that low anyway, but you're right, it might not pick up every last drop. The 9 sec thing is what Tony heard through the grapevine. I'm almost certain that when he raced me it was not a 9 sec run. And by the way, he was on slicks, but we went from a 20 mph roll. As soon as his gears run out, advantage-me. Heck, for all I know, the Rustang may have had 800hp with a nice shot of nitrous, heck with a change of pills, I would. It's not all that uncommon around here. These rednecks will buy a new carb for their car when the kids have holes in their shoes. As far as the warmer, purge, etc.. I wanted to keep the system as simple as possible to avoid unnecessary drilling and such. As it sits, I have drilled one hole, and I can pull it all off in about 30 minutes. In my opinion a purge is not needed on street tires or without a bulletproof drive train anyway. Why shock my drive train when I can go without the purge, have it come on a little more gradually, and probably make more power stick to the ground anyway? I'm in Texas, I don't need a warmer, I need a cooler. Blowdown, Not planning on putting my bottle in the oven and getting it to 3000lbs, so I'll go without that too. Opener is on the way. Bata bing bata boom. Now I'm open for questions.

Vanus was saying for a Viper to run in the 9s it would need 800+ HP not a Stang.

I want to put the NX Express on my 96.
BURNOUT.gif
The only thing that has prevented me from buying it is I wanted to see the instructions and PICS of the install(you just obliged me of the PICS-Thank you). I wrote Nitrous Express for questions and never got a reply. I just want to see for myself just how the install goes. I know it is kit #20325. I wanted to know how the full throttle switch looked and just how universal is it? I know the throttles are different from the Gen 1 and Gen 2(bar connecting throttles) and the alternator is between the throttle bodies on a Gen 1. Is the install look like clutter. Do you start out conservative at first

you know use the 100HP jet first. Just how much can I expect to gain at the track. I run a mid 12's now. Its pretty much stock. High flow cats, smooth tubes and filter. I read the 200 shot has put vipers in the 9's WOW! If you could scan or ? me the instructions I would appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks - I have only one other question. How do you tap into the fuel line. Do you splice the factory line and they supply a "T" connector. Or do they supply you with a fitting for the fuel rail. I see it is(fuel line) is a quick disconnect and the male part is threaded into the fuel rail. I don't want to do that much hacking only to remove it and it (nitrous) show every possible sign it existed.

OH I forgot the most important question of all. How do you like it. How much time do you think you have shaved. Seat of your pants feel or ? Like or dislikes. I'M pretty sure I'm getting one. I think its the best bang for your buck. As we both know nothing for the Viper is cheap.

They just give you general guidelines to follow and leave the rest to your imagination. You have to be good at African American engineering to get it done

I now use the term " High Tech Redneck" engineering to be politically correct.

rt96,

It takes a bit more than a 200 shot to get you into the nines.

You will need 725 RWHP or more. Good luck with your mods!

No but I'll definitely Post pics & everything when I get it back. Who knows, we might line up against each other at VOI. I heard Hennessey's renting a track or something.

Viperrt96- The install doesn't look cluttered at all to me. You can see it in the pic. The throttle switch is pretty much one size fits all. You just have to manipulate it to fit each application. The instructions are not real specific either. They just give you general guidelines to follow and leave the rest to your imagination. You have to be good at African American engineering to get it done. It's not hard, but if you are not mechanically inclined, I'd have it done by a professional. I don't have a scanner and I'm better at working on cars than computers, so I have no idea how to send the instructions to you. I don't know about 9's, I'm just hoping and praying for high 10's. Hey, it could happen! If you have anymore questions I'd be glad to help you all I can.

You really don't have to do any hacking to tap the fuel rail. It has a shraeder valve that is used to check fuel pressure. You just screw the line onto that and you're done. Love it!

I've contacted a few nitrous tuners/dealers and requested if they can send me a copy of the instructions before my purchase, but haven't had any luck.

Like yourself, I'd like to see how the whole system is set up, and what are the components included in the kit, before I buy.

I spoke to Albert about the NX kit, and he's suppose to fax me a copy of the instructions. He said it's Viper specific, but I may have mis-understood him.

Alan,

I will be picking up my NX kit from Albert this week. The kit is Viper specific and Albert should be able to answer any of your questions since he has done a lot of Viper installs.
