Your first post, number 13 above, said 70 members were banned. If you read my response to your post carefully, it does not say that all 70 had their privileges restored. If you use the search function on this site, you will see the post addressing this issue made previously by Dan. The amount of censorship on this site has been dramatically reduced over the past ninety days. I think that everyone who has been following the situation knows that. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

Uh, no they haven't. There is a VCA member local to me that has been "moderated" for the last 4 month. He got "released" for a few days asking hard questions, then got "re-moderated". There are many more that can't post.

Your information is way off Bob, stop commenting on stuff you have no clue about. Free advice, just for you.

Please PM me the username of the person in question. I am not a moderator, however, Board members do have the ability to view who is moderated status. This happened back at the end of September when people were being moderated left and right without any notifications being given. The worst part is, our official moderators weren't the ones putting people in moderation. Apparently quite a few people who should not have had access did.

The moderated status list is very small right now. If my math is correct, it represents 0.25% of registered users on this forum. Not sure how that ranks among web forums, but my initial inclination would be that it's not that bad at all.

In any case, I'd be happy to look into if you send me the information.

C'mon Bob really ... you've been speaking for the board for months now ... lol.

I agree with you but it was sent to Members and I did not feel comfortable posting it in a public forum without the permission of the sender. Now that it has been posted here, and I am glad that it was, that issue is taken care of.

Mixed feelings.
It's certainly a step in the right direction, not only regarding the content but, and, as important, the tone of the letter.
As I said mixed feelings because it do feel that the *** is moving in the right direction, not so much by choice but being forced to do so by what has happen.
Also mixed feeling because all the ***, save for a couple of peoples, have had National or regional responsibilities for many years and obviously were part, at a minimum, of a system that got us where we are now.

Thanks but my primary loyalty is to the club not any particular individual or group of individuals. The club is more important than the individuals passing through its leadership.

I am a bit old fashioned in a number of ways. One of those ways is to honor who a letter is addressed to just as I honor *** and private emails. But, as I said above, it is great that it has now been posted for all to read because it is excellent.

You guys do realize that the past problems of the VCA developed over time, some of which the VOA founders were in charge of the VCA. These problems did not just happen in the last year where Lee was president--in fact Lee didn't even last one year as President if my memory serves me correctly. So that means these past VCA problems developed to some extent when Maurice and others developing the VOA were on the VCA board. I really don't know why the things developed the way that they did, I just know this situation happened to some extent on the watch of some of the VCA's worst critics. That is why I'm staying with the VCA. I think that the current VOLUNTEER board has done an outstanding job during unrelenting criticism and attack. They have addressed every issue that Chrysler had along with many of the member issues. Now it seems that with all that has been done, we still have critics rehashing and attacking the same issues, most of which have been solved. IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON--EITHER JOIN VOA OR VCA OR BOTH AND BE DONE WITH IT. I for one am so tired of the ********.---Dave

So it is said, so is it written...or something along those lines. Time will tell...let's see what SRT says.

Interesting perspective as I can relate in the following manner. During my time as a regional president, I had little to no involvement on the National level. In fact, before I became a President, by law revisions to exclude the Presidents from the Board had already been put in place. Part of reason I didn't care that this was because I wasn't interested in dealing with politics, the other reason, which is probably the biggest one, is that I wanted to focus on running my region which was a fair amount of work on it's own. The fact that I turned the other cheek with regards to the past events is a major factor to why I decided to step up now and help out. It has certainly been a roller coaster ride the past 3 months. Simply put, the regret of doing nothing to save VCA was greater than the regret to jump into a hornets nest.

Thats a good letter. It's a shame it took so long to come. Now lets see if those words are put to action. Hopefully it will. Then I can join a club.

Pat Dougherty is with Mopar correct? Little misleading as he has nothing to do with SRT.

If I remember correctly, in a prior post it was disclosed that after the last meeting between Chrysler and the VCA, it was decided by Chrysler that all communication between Chrysler ( which included SRT since Ralph was at that meeting) and the VCA would be on a business to business basis as a step toward eliminating the possibility of any more "peculiar behavior". Pat Dougherty was the person designated by Chrysler to be the person to communicate with. Based on that, the letter is not misleading although I understand how it might appear to be so if one did not know about Pat's role.

So basically the VCA doesn't get to deal with SRT anymore they get to deal with Mopar because of the VPA. Since they are a Mopar distributor would fall under Mopars umbrella. Not a good thing for the club IMO.

and how many people know that back story. Most people that read that letter would assume that Pat works for SRT since the question was Q: Has SRT abandoned the VCA? and the answer was "absolutely not" and goes on about Pat.

I should have made it clear that the new method of business to busines communication was, as I understand it, implemented for all car clubs - not just the VCA. There are many clubs that are SRT related - not just Viper clubs. Many will disagree, but I think that it was prudent and smart of Chrysler managment to adopt a new policy that provides for more uniformity in treatment of car clubs. It helps Chrysler to avoid any similar future problems with other car clubs which is clearly in the best interest of the shareholders of Chrysler which includes the union and Fiat, a public company.

Why is it that there always seems to be some important "factual" part of information missing which then needs you to come along and "make it clear" to the masses. It's funny how every spin you attempt is proven wrong within an hour or two by the facts.?
Keep it up Bob. The ship is sinking and your bailing water with a bucket full of holes.

Sometimes there are facts missing. Sometimes I remember data from prior posts that clarifify a current post. Sometimes others do. If you are looking for perfection, I think that you are looking in the wrong place. There are no perfect people in the VCA or anywhere else.

In post number 41 above, you stated that you thought the Board's letter was a good letter. We agree on that. The letter confirmed the data in my opening post of this thread. So, at least in this instance, the data/analysis seems to have been correct. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Gustfront, it would be interesting to know your qualifications for making some of your statements. VCA / VOA / SRT / Dodge / past or present viper owner ? Join in July and have 123 posts and have knowledge that we don't . I assure you no one has a complete and unbiased set of facts on this topic.

Somehow my moderation has ended as mysteriously as it started. I will admit, it wasn't a good idea to leave so many moderated for so long if you would like them to join again next year. That should have been corrected quickly.

Gustfront, why don't you just beat it and scurry over to VOA? Or better yet, the Alley. I enjoy a little trolling from time to time...and if I was going to antagonize someone, Bob would NOT be the person. Run along now.

You can't be serious. The guy on the Alley is the one posting all the facts. I'm guessing he's banned here.
