Oil smudge at the bottom of the oil pan, is this normal?

When I was changing motor oil, I noted a little bit of dirty oil at the very end of the oil pan, right between motor oil pan and the tranny. Well, I wiped it out and forgot about it for the last few weeks. Today, I took off the underbelly to do the oil change in the tranny and diff and once again noted a little of oil smudge right between tranny and the oil pan, see pictures below.

What do you guys think, is this normal?
Interesting part is that underbelly does not have any marks of oil on it. :dunno:

Hm, strange that you cannot see pictures? I see them just fine. However, I think you right it might the rear seal. Dam to bad the closest Chrysler dealer is like 40 miles away now. Can't believe it we came to these economic terms when there is no dealership in San Francisco or close Bay Area.
