Old Viper Magazine Article

There was an article a few years ago in the quarterly Viper magazine, about the first Gen II GTS engines. It talked about the 96 GTS engines initially failing to meet manufacturers' endurance requirements or something to that effect and that they ended up using the casting molds from the racing program engines at the last minute to satisfy the manufacturing requirements for 96 and 97 GTS's.

I can't get my hands on that particular issue at the moment because I have some copies here and some at my other home, which is out of state. Anyone have a copy of that article? Or can scan it for me? its just a couple of pages.

I don't recall that article. If you can think of anything else pertaining to the article such as the magazine cover, year, issue, etc. I'd be happy to try and locate it.

Disregard. I found it. Finally located my old issues. It was actually in the winter 2008 issue. Article titled "Why Vipers Ruled the Racing World". And my memory fails me, lol.

Apparently All 96-2001 production Viper engines were made using the GTS-R race block casting, not just 96-97 (per Jerry Mallicoat).

I don't know. You may be right but the article specifically says 1996-2001.

The part that says (and I quote Jerry Mallicoat) "so from 1996 to 2001, all production Vipers came with GTS-R race block castings."
