This was discussed in a previous thread but, I am looking for actual owners of the OS Giken. I would like to get opinions on the likes or dislikes.

I have one but not installed yet. Going in the 28th. I picked one up with 3.33s. I will certainly let everyone my thoughts.

You two are the only ones I know of! So what's up...it's been months! And Canyon, I thought you'd installed already. So do you have some comments?? Don't ask others what they think, post up--you might be the only one (maybe Nader's waiting for you, heh heh).

I have installed mine but have yet to finish the breakin. Hoping this weekend. The OS Giken didn't really need to be broken in but the Dana Gears are new and needed the 500 mile breakin/heat cycle. The install was easy. I was just wondering what other if any have thoughts. I don't know yet because I have yet to push it. I will definately let you know my thoughts. I am going to try and hit the track this WED or the following.

I have searched the net regarding break in for the giken superlock and everywhere I look says it does not require any break in procedure.

The break in procedure was not for the Giken but for the new Dana 44 gears. They need to be heat cycled. The Dana 44 gears are tough but need to cycle to seat properly if done correctly much quieter running. I just finished 500 miles last week ( that took a while) I got on it a few times but have yet to put it on the track. I think next WED I will put it to the test on the track.

I just saw your post about drag times. Sounds like you have everything broken in. So what do you think about the Giken? I have mine installed with 3.33s and going through the break in for the gear set now. Up to 100 miles. So far I really like the 3.33s. I didnt think they would make much of a difference but they definitely did. 6th gear is now usable on the highway. Havent really pushed it due to the break in procedure but I can already tell the difference.

Good to hear. How about throttle in mid turn? How is the progression towards full lock? Can you feel it?

Well last night I did some pretty good grag racing and had some very consistant runs. Besides having fun the OS Giken worked well. I stayed straight good launches and what I have found is the Diff is rock solid. I didn't have my best times but, all in all I ran a 12.0, 12.03, 12.1 and 12.15 Not bad for a geared car. Big tempature change last night at Infineion.

Do you feel the rear of the car wandering side to side launching like trhe stock setup does or does it track straight down the road if the wheels are spinning a little?

It tracks straight as a bullet. I really pushed it hard last night and was pleased with the performance. It's really rock solid. Takes away the worry of the weak stock diff. I was running MT drag radials 12lbs. I think the launches were pretty good 1.8 60' yet as always I think I can do better.
