I was curious if Paxton was still at work on a s/c application. This was the reply from earlier today.......

David,

Yes the rumors are true, I will have a kit for the dodge viper. Release of the kit was expected to be the first of this year, but has been pushed back. I currently do not have to many specs on the system, but I can tell you that it will come with the Novi 200, air to water after cooler, race bypass, custom fuel setup, and full tuning. The kit is priced to sell at a retail price of 7995.00. Please stay tuned to my website for further
detail.

I visited Paxton at SEMA, and they wouldn't know an intercooler if it hitthem in the head. Seriously, they don't do any of their development with intercoolers, and they couldn't recommend anyone's intercooler to use with their system.

I was not impressed with them at all.

What is there not like about the kit, please explain, I seen the kit, Paxton knows what's up with intercooling, and after-cooling, since the kit comes with a air-water aftercooler. If you were at sema you probably would of remembered the air to air sitting on the front of there cobra display motor, remember that's a company that doesn't know intercooling...the blower will be a single novi 2000, complete kit, no manifolds to change, or major modifications, the kit already has a Carb E.O. number assigned to it! Its unfortunate that your opinions are so biased, but some people, you just can't convince otherwise.

What's not to like?? No kits on the street - none.

Paxton has been saying they are coming out with a kit for YEARS!! I will believe it when I see it.

I don't know how well Paxton knows intercooling, but they definitely got into the game late in the Mustang field. Paxton was quite candid about the reason they came out with an intercooler; it was because their customers wanted one, not because they thought their systems needed one. ATI's systems all came with intercoolers, and then when Vortech's aftercooler took off, Paxton felt it had to follow the trend. (Later on Paxton and Vortech merged, but I think the two companies still operate mainly independently.) I think Paxton's Mustang kits are excellent quality, and I would expect their Viper kit to be fine if it ever comes out. Dan Cragin stated earlier that he was involved in developing the single kit for Paxton, so I'm sure it will be solid. The question is, why would you buy one of the Paxton kits if you can buy the same thing from Dan and have him available for follow up? The only plausible answer: price. If Paxton's $8k retail gets beaten down enough with competition among various distributors, it might be a better deal, but I'd have to save at least $1k before I'd give up Dan as a safety net. Then again, knowing Dan, he'd give you the same service and post-sale advice if you bought through Paxton, if you can live with being a freeloader!
