ART brought out their record breaking TT Viper for the Texas Viper Roundup as well as their ACR-X, and Todd’s street ACR. The entire group at ART is a class act, not to mention, they are complete Viperholics, and love the car as much as we do. They opened up their facility again for the dyno day, and also sponsored an entire day at Harris Hill Raceway for us to get some track time.

Very interesting fact I learned today. Blake from ART asked me if I remember racing Todd Nelson (owner of ART) in his 900+ rwhp Paxton Viper about 4 months after I bought my car, at the 2008 Viper roundup. Turns out that he blew the motor in that race, and that began the build which eventually turned into the Ballista Viper! Just really cool that I raced this car 3 years ago :) Enjoy the pics!

First a pic I really liked, of the ACR-X:

Those brake rotors look toasty :omg:

Awesome build, awesome mile run. Saw this car at the VOI, lots of other cool stuff in it to keep it from going airborn at speed.

Cheers,
George

I spoke to Todd and a couple of the ART guys at the Texas Mile event. They are all a great group of passionate Viper guys. Todd kept his cool even after I bombarded him with numerous technical questions about the 1800 car.

I have much respect for ART and their approach to these Standing Mile events. I can't wait to witness the accolades that ART and his team will earn for the Viper community.

What was the record speed??

They have the certificate at 240.7 mph in the standing mile, at Goliad, TX. They were going 247 mph at the 3/4 mile mark, but the boost cut came on 3 times, and finally broke 5th gear, so they actually slowed down to the 240.7 mph at the mile. This car should hopefully take the title from UGR at the next Texas Mile :D

Supposedly, the car can do 277 mph top speed!!!
