I am picking up a red Viper and it has a paint matched GTSR wing on it, honestly I am not sure I am too keen on the look of the wing. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of Vipers with the wing painted black, maybe that will make it stick out a little less and show the lines of the red car? If I really don't like it, I guess I can just take it off and have the holes filled in and that portion of the car painted. Was thinking of painting it with plastidip first so I can get a feel for the look of the car with the wing in black before spending the money on painting it black rather than just repainting that portion of the car once having the holes filled in.

Is this a true Oreca GTSR style wing (probably not) or the GT2 after market one like many have? Either way taking it off and repainting is a big and expensive process do do it RIGHT so you cannot tell it was there. Might want to keep it and paint to accent the car if you do not like the current color.

I'm sure its probably a GT2 aftermarket wing. I am going to see what I can do, I want to try to avoid a huge expense but I got the car at a great deal so if I have to repaint that portion of the car, including the roof, I will do it.

Yep, that's the same as mine :) my car came with one of those when I bought it. If I had a choice I would have gone for the GTS-R wing but Its better than no wing, It makes a great Tea Tray at car meets for biscuits, sandwiches and cakes :D

Your car looks fab and I love those wheels :)

Here's a couple of pics showing you how its mounted :)

How do you take the back off? I was thinking of getting little body color plugs for the holes on the decklid, that way I can sometimes run the wing and sometimes take it off. Any idea what size the holes are on the decklid?

If you have a wing on the back, you also need a splotter or cannards on the front to balance the downforce unless the wing is at a 0 degree angle.

OK remove the spare wheel from the trunk area and pull back the inner trunk lining, you will then see a bunch of holes, using a socket with an extension piece undo the nuts holding the rear panel and lamp clusters.

From the outside rear of the car undo the small black screws in the rear panel outer edges (where the boot air vents are). If I remember correctly You also have to undo the trunk lock.

I did what you said and used some rubber grommets to plug the holes to get my car through its Single vehicle approval test when it first arrived in the UK. Then refitted the wing back on after the test ;)

If you look closely at the pic, it does have cannards on the front as well

Thats the Lemans wing not the Gtsr wing. This one is bolted straight to the frame of the car. It actualy is functional whereas the Gtsr wing I believe is cosmetic.

I love that Le mans wing, l had thought about replacing mine with that wing but the two uprights are spaced further apart than the mounts on theGT2 wing, so it would mean filling one set of holes and drilling another :( That's not going to happen!
