AllanLambo, the chinesse guy I was refferring too is the same guy that you mentioned earlier with the black Porsche.. the one that hangs around the silver Porsche in the video posted earlier.

My experience on profiling this Porsche individual is simple.
Most of the guys that really have fast cars are humble, and never underestimate an opponent.. Gerald is an example.

Typically the Big mouth guys that only race for 5000 are the ones who have no clue what a fast car is .. not to mention what a 150 mph trap speed means behind the wheel.
Also these big mouth elements are not the kind of people you want to hang around with. If you bet the 5 g's and win, I'll bet you will not collect easily, so be prepared for that.

150 mph true street cars are far and between . By true street cars I mean they are fast and dont break after two passes.
Also 2600 lb. Porsches are not too close to stock as far as weight is concerned.
It is hard to win against a 'Shop car" unless you are willing to put all you hard earned $$ into the line and sacrifise your motor.
Example. Gerald, you can starp a 300 shot of juice on your set up, and run anybody!!!..why don't you (insert your answer here)
That is what separates you from the "shop" cars.

If I were you I'd call the guy, play it real humble and be ready to take his insults and bad mouthing, just tell him you bought the car , and that it feels realy fast...
try to get him to go from a roll... for no more than $200

I don't care if he traps 150 balls to the wall, how is he going to hook it up from 60 mph on the highway?
I had a similar experienced that is posted here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=351134

read it and see fo yourself, somehow I think is a similar guy!

xs, the guy with the silver car does not know any chineese porsche drivers. the guy with the silver porsche is the guy who builds them. the silver one is his personal car. the cars definately do not break after 2 passes, his car is his daily driver, drives it from palm beach to ft lauderdale and back daily. he routinely goes out to street races and races for cash. the way that he will hook up on the highway is with the 335 drag radials hes running. he will do soo with no problems. remember, all the weight is over the rear wheels on these cars.
again saying it requires a substantial amount of work to get porsches to run hard and fast is true, but its not like its easier to extract that power from viper. and then its not like a viper with 900 rear wheel hp is bullet proof. with that kind of power, any car will break things. just a matter of finding the next weakest link. there is another 150+ mph porsche i know of, it is chameleon painted. ever seen this car? its a show car, full interior, and like 20,000 worth of stereo equipment. there was also a blue convertible in sarasota.
all im saying is if your going to race this guy, go ahead, dont do it for money.

also xs, i read your post on that other forum and i have to agree with you. some people are just total idiots and have no idea what a fast car is. btw, before the guy with the silver porsche had a porsche he had a twin turbo corvette that he did. it dynoed somewhere around 1100hp on the engine dyno. i saw him in that car get into it at over 100mph and roast the tires! it was scarey. i would never get in that car with him! he ended up selling it, and got into a fight with the new owner. he wouldnt work on the car for him anymore and nobody could figure out how to program the engine managemnt system. the car is in miami.

actually, porsches packing 900hp can and do look stock. especially the ones that pack that punch into an older narrow bodied car. there was a guy who did it to a 83 911 sc. completely stock, door dings dents and all. they also dont sound any different than any 911 with exhaust. they dont have a lumpy idle either. some do run straight pipes, no mufflers at all, and those are very noisy. also to clarify on the porsche power it is rear wheel hp, not flywheel. i dont understand why you guys cant believe a porsche can make that power? look at the supras. they make huge power and are still docile daily drivers.

Two of my friends have 996's and in my experience alot of work is required to make them significantly faster. I just don't feel a 996 is going to hit the 900hp level without alot of mods - and those mods should be detectable with a cursory inspection. The Supra is an exception because the motor is extremely built from the factory. The 300ZX is another turbo car that needs alot of work to his that 900hp level.

I still don't think this guy had the game necessary to pull Gerald, but I could be wrong.

So how does one dyno an AWD car. With that much power (900hp) can the AWD system handle it or are these cars mostly rear wheel drive cars.

uh yeah mike, it takes alot of work to get a porsche to 900hp, just as it does a viper. the beauty of the porsche is that the biggest power gain is boost. something that you visually cannot see, or hear.

What will you see under the hood of a Porsche? heh heh.

But seriously, race him for a few hundred - the suspense is killing me. Just say the wife doesn't like you running for big $ any more... or you're broke at the moment but would like to race anyway... or whatever.

If you don't want to, tell him you've got a friend who might be interested, and call Sir Hiss... I don't see a 911 beating his mid 7s! Then again, he might back out when he sees that car roll up with a parachute on the back, and tyres wide enough to almost touch each other.

is bmp = bradington? if so i know both those porsches and their owners well. one is hispanic, and the other is middle eastern looking. both are 9 second cars with huge mph.

i was not bad mouthing viper days.

These are the prosches I'm talking about, I guess no chinesse guy.. Definetly these are the tow I saw last time a BMP.
Like I said the black one run in the high 10's at 142 on race gas. It impressed me he went home driving..
Now Gerald's car should trap in the 140's no problem...
As for the TT Vette , must be in a garage somewhere as I know the street racing scene here in Miami, and never even heard of such a car..

only one way to find out Gerald.. step up to the challenge, I think you'll win, and the look on his face will be priceless..
after you show him tailights...
Or just do a friendly race with Limey, that will give you an idea of where you are at..
Either way keep us posted.

OMG,

You guys are still talking about if Gerald should do the race??? **** , since the post first started I have seen 4 high dollar street races that were decided on in 30 min each or less.

Lets get this race over with already, just go look at the P car if it is anything fast you will be able to see it easily. I love how people always bring Eddie B.'s car up when a race with a Porsche is considered. The problem is Eddies car would never run a consistent number and is a partly tube framed car at that. No street driver 911 will turn his numbers, and as stated before street times and track times are hardly ever the same.
