Wait a week and call to see if the sale really went through, probably not, even at that price with a crappy interior

Well let's put it to the test here.
What would you pay for my car? ( I am not selling, Thank you.)
Two owners
I drive it daily.
46,000 + miles
I give it a 7 out of ten.
Super reliable, 3 more years on extended care.....
What would YOU pay??????????

Look at the straight on photo of the car with the fence in the background. It looks like the passenger side is 2 inches higher than the driver. You get what you pay for.

It's kinda sad to see one in that condition. It has had a hard life probably due to indifferent previous owners. I sure would not buy or even bid on that one. They may be better off parting it out.

It is also missing the weatherstripping around the left side wheel well. The interior abuse reflects a complete abuse of the car.

I got to ask guys, what do you mean on the condition? I went back to look at it and to tell you the truth, it doesn't look that bad too me. The seats do look like they need some work, but heck, it is a 10 year old car! For $27K, I would get a custom interior done for $2K and be very happy. It only has 35,000 miles on the clock. Jeeezz,

35k / 10 years = 3,500 per year, not by the looks of THAT interior. I agree with the term "uncaring owner". Although they say you can't polish a ****, someone has been able to make the outside all sparkley.

I'd like to know what the seller was thinking when he showed pictures of the interior. It was an abomination. There was popcorn on the carpet, no mats, the weatherstripping under both doors was torn off, and the seats appeared as though multiple 350 lb. individuals had dropped their anatomy into them.

I too have a '94, so I can attest how good they can look.

I agree with Joe that if the interior looks that bad, how good (bad) can the rest of the car be?

Just because the auction ends as "sold" , means nothing. I know of a couple corvette sellers that bid each others cars up and if they can't get what they want , they do the fake sale, and re-list it later. This practice hurts re-sale on our cars because people say " well I can get one on e-bay for ..."

I don't trust anything on Ebay........Buyer beware. I wouldn't mind buying a second hand Viper if I knew who the owner was or at least get a chance to look at it before I bought it. One-on-one you look the seller in the eye and tell him I'LL BE BACK.

No , they bid each others cars up when they have a real bidder that they are attempting to get more money from. These guys Never have a reserve posted because they use the buddy system to make the reserve. That way they hook real bidders who think, "If he would pay that for it , then I will go up to .." When they don't make the amount that they want , then they do the fake sale thing and re-list later. This is very common among used car dealers and re-sellers.

Yeah, but my point is they should bid up, not down. Leaving it at $26,700 doesn't make sense if that is what happened here.

They were no doubt hanging at $26,700 , waiting for a real bid , and got no takers. If the seller only has one buddy helping him along , then the buddy can't bid against himself , he can only bid it up when a real buyer makes a bid. They let it go down to the wire at a dirt cheap price hoping for a real bid. Then at the end of the auction it looks like it sold for a really LOW price , thus hurting our re-sale value. This crap happens all the time. Just ask somebody who has been trying to get one of these really good geals. They never materialize. These no reserve and low reserve auctions are all B.S. , they have an out if they don't get what they want.

I don't think of ebay as an auction when it comes to cars that cost as much as a Viper.
There are lots of Vipers for sale on ebay and lots of people bidding but no seller is really going to let a car go for a less than reasonable price. They will simply close early or get a shill to bid it up.
So it's not really an auction.
People with less expensive items will often just sell to the highest bidder, they don't do that with Vipers.

By the way, I'd sell my 94 for $29k if someone came with money in hand. I'm not really trying to sell it right now but I think it's worth $29k and I'd sell for that.

Car is gone, I live near where the car is at. There is no way I would also pay over 40 for a 93-95 viper.

Ok,my turn.I bought my 94 new, msrp 52.8. I have put 106,000 one owner miles on it.Never been hit, body perfect. When the gts came out in 96, I loved the stripes. So I had mine silver striped, painted on.A couple of months ago I repainted the car to remove the stripes.Very good paint job.It also took care of the nicks and scrapes you get with 106,000 miles.I also put new carpet in it.It got pretty wet through the years.Mechanically, its perfect, and I think will run for 80000 more miles.(I hope I do).I ran it through a couple of highline auctions, not to sell, but just to see what it was worth to a dealer. It bid to 24.1 the first time, and 25.5 the 2nd.Thats wholesale, not retail. So it would probably retail for 27-28. With 106,000 miles on it. What else can you buy for 53k,use for 10 years, drive the heck out of,and still get 50% of its value? The prices continue to hold well, but the early cars have bottomed out and will begin to stabilize.
