Does anyone have Purner wheels as everyday drivers? Anyone have pics they can post on daily driver vipers?

Before I bought a set of 18" OEM wheels (off a 2001 GTS).. I really looked closely at the Purner wheels.

He is very easy to work with. I was going to get the black annodized centers.

Sean Roe has Purner wheels on his Maroon GTS... with Silver annodized centers. Take a look at his website.

Gerald:

I have three sets, street, strip and track - John is a pleasure to work with. I tried the 3.25 x 18 on the front, however, they are a bit much for the street, to much work to keep it straight on bad roads. I now run 2.85 x 18 on the front and they work well.

I know one guy from MD that has them on his 96-97 Blue and White GTS. To descibe the car and hope the owner chiimes in, car also has carbon fibre interior kit, MGW shift knob, looks like chrome trim around guages, aftermarket steering wheel, painted metal cover where the wipers are, and painted letters on side of the car.

If he doesn't get on, I can have a friend scan some pics, and I can get them on a website. Just drop me a PM

There are a couple of guys in the MD/VA area that have them on their Vipers (although I wouldn't call them daily drivers, they do drive them a lot) . V8HUNTR (Chris) has them as well as Bob Clayton. They look good, but don't have the high-polish finish of the more expensive custom wheels. I think they look really good on their cars.

Here's a pic of Purner's on my car. I only use them for the track and my car isn't a daily driver, although I do drive it most days and put about 1000 miles a month on it.

Hi,
I expect my wheels to arrive from John this friday. I order 335/18 for all
four corners. However, I plan to use them strickly/mostly for track use.
I hope they look cool as I ordered them with black anodized centers with std.
chrome lips. I agree John was easy to talk to and very helpful. i ordered mine
from Jon B at the PartsRack.

Purner wheels can be built for almost any specified application, whether it is daily driven or tracked. I've got the same setup as Gary with ET Streets and skinnies. I had this setup for my Supra and had different centers installed for the Viper.

John Purner is introducing a one piece forged wheel within the next month (Similar to Forgelines). Once he receives the forged blanks, he will be able to generate almost any style wheel anyone desires (within reason :) ). You could even draw him a sketch and he will be able to produce the design.

His pricing is normally very fair and you will save money, relatively speaking! :) With his new one piece forged wheel, I could've saved ~$1000 compared to my Forgeline VR1's.

Give him a call as he may be willing to give out good prices to promote and expose his new product.

I'm thinking about unpolished. I find that if I have anything chromed, polished or buffed, I worry too much about keeping it clean!

Yeah, but the polished finish has that BLING! :D

My VR1's are getting a clear coat finish to protect the polished finish and hopefully make it a little easier to maintain. Forgeline doesn't offer a clear coat, but most powder coaters can handle the clear coating.
