Race the Base Top Speed Challenge on TV

Discovery Channel is going to air parts of Race the Base on Sunday at 6pm says an email from Zahir.

I invited Herb Helbig (Grail Keeper) to come up to the Race the Base next year and he's interested. I also invite an new 1600+rwhp TT from ART and he also said he'd like to come up to Canada and take on the World's Fastest Ferrari. They built the car to beat the existing record at the Texas mile. Add a couple of Vipers from Western Cda and it looks like Vipers could Dominate next year.

They did? I missed it. They did say that there will be a supercar show at a later date though.

It sprinkled and Darryl had slicks on his Road racer (Oreca style) and he did spin a donut when he went into second gear, hardly slowed down as he just got her pointed right and was back on the throttle.

As a driving instructor - 'he did know he had slicks and that the road was wet, right?' If it was a track day it would be a mistake but at a competitive event where you push for every MPH stuff like that will happen. Racing is at the edge - track days are quite a bit away from the edge.

Anyway, good for him. I'm glad he ran his car and it looks like he gave it everything he had. If you're going to compete - compete with everything you have.

Yah, he had fun. Did you know that he has a blown alcohol Hemi Viper in his garage? Now that would be fun ...
