Rebuilding one; have question

Hello Viper family. This is my first post. For the last year I have been rebuilding a wrecked 01 GTS. This was a car that was hit hard in front right and required a frame clip and a laundry list of everything else up front.As you all know, I can't say enough good things about Scott at X-2 and Paul Scharf . Also God bless ebay. Well...the car is now back together(mostly) at least to the point of firing it up. However on my first attempt, I got nothing.My questions are(1) Is the fuel pump loud enough to hear (whir) when the power is on ? (2) Air bags were deployed and not yet replaced: is there a computer lockout of the system ? Anyone who has been here before please feel free to bore me with details. I hope to be troubleshooting on Sunday. Thanks in advance for any help. Im sure I'll be posting again soon.

1) You can hear fuel pump prime for 1.5 seconds when you turn the key to ON (not START). Cannot hear pump running while car is ON, not running..... or running.

2) No. I have seen deployed cars START. I suspect a grounding problem.

3) god bless ebay? (they'll be right here to help you.............any moment now....)

I have done the EXACT same rebuild. You are faster than I, as it took me a year and 7 months.
When I first went to fire, I failed to plug in the coil packs. Seems like the best advice is to go over everything to make sure it is plugged in.
I also may have someone stand near throttle bodies and spray in starting fluid to see if she is only missing fuel.

Thanks for the suggestions so far...and JonB, I have spoken to you before and ment no slight by leaving you off my positive experience list.Today I replaced the ground that ties the frame to block as it had been crimped from impact,also checking every ground I could see. Car turns over beautifly but I never get a smell of gas. Also I never heard the fuel pump prime . ???

One more thing...How long and how difficult should this be to crank. At this point I have tried about 20 times.

Depress the schrader valve on the fuel rail and see if there is any fuel pressure.

You can eliminate the fuel pump question by grounding K31 20 BR in the fuel pump power connector in the trunk. The pump is normally activated when this wire is grounded by the ECU (the F12 18 DG/GY continuously supplies +12VDC), but it only does so for a second (literally) if it senses the engine didn't start. By grounding it yourself, you allow the pump to run whenever the key is in the run or on position - and it is unsafe to leave it that way. If the engine stalls or breaks a fuel line, it would continue to run.

When fuel check valves fail, the one second run time means it takes a lot of repeat cranking to refill the fuel line. It could take about 6-8 seconds to refill an empty line. In older cars the same wire other colors: K51 20 DB/YL* or K31 20 BR/VT.

Tom...thanks for the explaination. So far I've rechecked everything ,shot gas into a vacuum tube and gotten not a sputter. Clearly I must dig deeper. Is there no reset button for the fuel pump? This was an 8500 mile car so except for the busted pieces I can't imagine there would much more to replace.

so you have fuel at the rail, but it does not start? Then its probably and ignition problem. Check for spark.

Rebuilding one; we have answer

After spending 5-6 hours in futility it took my computer tech about 5 minutes to isolate the blown relay. After sitting idle about 2 years it took about 10 seconds to come to life and run without so much as a sputter.Glorious.Still have some assembly but could wait to tell everybody. Thanks for all who gave troubleshooting advice.
