Remove ash tray by pulling up
CAREFULLY lift panel around the gear shift (pushplugs)
CAREFULLY pull from around stereo two push plugs at top and one either side
Remove window conectors and rear heated screen
then there is two screws either side of the stereo then pull it out ..

When removing the snap-in bezel from around the gear shift/ac controls/stereo/etc and, more importantly, when re-installing it, be very careful you don't scratch your dash with the metal pieces on the underside of the bezel - usually most at risk is the area above the stereo/AC controls, especially on a Gen I (because that gray fuzz paint comes off fairly easily.

One more tip. You can buy a trim removal tool at any auto supply store. It's basically a bent screwdriver. It'll make things a LOT easier. I can do it without one only becasue I've taken it off like 20 times. :2tu:
