Removing/Installing Alternator 96GTS

Hey guys I did a forum search for the subject and read where a member avoided some Viper Tax and had luck with having his Alt. Rebuilt... there's a company right in my city that does just that.... any oddball things I need to know about removing and installing the Alternator in my 96 GTS? It looks like 2 bolts and the elect. plug.... that's about all I could see.... thx for any info fellas.

That's pretty much it, but make sure you disconnect the battery from the rear. Not the front.

Why? Doesn't disconnecting it at the bullet connector by the P/S pump totally isolate the alternator?
