I am trying to remove the lower (outer) seat track from the upper track (inner) that is located on the bottom of the seat. There are stops on both sides that will not allow the tracks to totally separate. I want to separate the two, but, it is fighting me. Is there a special tool or technique that allows the tracks to be separated. These are 2008 seats.

You will most likely have to drill out the rivets which will destroy the tracks from being used again if my memory serves me correctly. I don't think they are just bolted to the seat frame. I was thinking there are two rivets on each side that hold the assembly together.
The rivets hold the upper track to the seat frame. There has to be some way to release the lower track from the upper.

You might try to sliding it out all the way and hitting it with a hammer and maybe it will come off? Sorry i'm not any help.
Both ends on the outer track have two raised half spheres that contact a roller mechanism in the inner track. Typically there is a way to raise that stop mechanism, but, in this case nothing seems to work. I can get to where i want to be by cutting the slider mechanism, but, I don't want to ruin the seat just in case I cannot make the Gen IV fit the gen II.

Can you grind the hemisphere down, then rivet it when you're done? If the rivet won't work, you could always plug weld it.
