Please note that the correct web address for Racing Solutions Inc. (RSI) of Houston, Texas, is www.racingsolutionsinc.com .

It has come to RSI's attention that another local automotive performance business is using the similar domain name www.racingsolutionsincorporated.com to direct users to that business' own website. That business, their website, the information contained in their website, and the services promoted by that website and business ARE IN NO WAY a part of, affiliated with, or recommended by Racing Solutions Inc.

We feel it unfortunate that someone may find it necessary to resort to tactics which may be misleading to the honest customer and Viper enthusiast in order to further their own ends, and we apologize for any confusion and inconvenience caused to those customers who were seeking out RSI but ended up at another site. We feel that the confusion created by the other domain improperly infringes upon our goodwill, and thus, we have turned this matter over to our legal counsel for further investigation. We hope that this matter will be resolved quickly and that further confusion will be avoided.

For additional information about RSI, feel free to contact me at [email protected], or check out RSI's website at www.racingsolutionsinc.com , where the preferred method of business competition is performance in the shop and at the track.

Thank you.

Gerald, I'm assuming that TNT's use of that domain name occurred after you formed RSI, correct? If so, I don't understand why TNT would employ such a low class tactic for something that has so little return, especially when TNT appears to have a generally good reputation. If that is in fact what happened, TNT will likely get nuked by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) if they don't just give it up in response to your counsel's demand letter.

i have to admit that i am also surprised that TNT would stoop to such a low level.. when i clicked i fully expected a smaller, less prominant shop to be behind such a classless move..

it seems the incorporated.com domain name was registered a month and a week after inc.com ..

apparently someone went to the microsoft school of business ethics.. although, it sounds more like personal politics than business savvy..

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. How do you know that this tool didn't register it as a means of extorting money out of RSI???

I am assuming there is more to this story, there always is, but this is the wrong way to "compete"......

I don't mean to start a flame war or anything, but I'm unaware of Microsoft pulling this sort of a stunt on a competitor's domain. As a Microsoft employee I took this one a little personally. This sort of thing does look pretty cheesy, though - not sure how TNT thought nobody would notice. I'd also check the search engine results to see if the TNT site comes up with RSI as the search keyword.

Well perhaps David is correct that we better withhold judgment until it becomes clear whether the registrant is connected to TNT. So anyone know whether this Nick Field has anything to do with TNT?

david b,

so you're saying that someone bought the domain name and purposely created a redirect to tnt motorsports for the sole purpose of extorting money from RSI?

sounds almost believable being that that tntvipers.com and racingsolutionsincorporated.com have very different nameserver info..

then again, i'm not very internet savvy.. i'm sure one of the cyber geeks would be able to figure it out.. wheres pierce?

HEY!!!

I just talked to Roy at TNT and he knew nothing of this!

Nick Field works the phones at TNT and in no way had authorization to do such a thing!

Roy has already put calls into Gerald and is going to make it right and I'm quite sure Nick is going to be lucky to have a job after this.

I'm pissed at Nick and feel sorry for Roy and Joe to have someone like this collecting paychecks from them and to be doing such stupid things behind their backs!

Relax a little on this one!..
I've known Nick and the Guys at TNT for years and no conclusions should be drawn when noone fully understands the situation. Having 3 (errr... Now 2) MAJOR viper tuners in Houston sets up an interesting business dynamic.

Noone trashed another tuner.. Noone took any destructive measures to hurt the business of a competitor. A little competion, whether percieved as in bad taste or not, is to be expected. These guys all know each other and I'm sure they **** each others chains on occasion. If you own a business and a major competitor is next door, MAYBE you give them some hell now and then. It's certainly no reason for the viper community to get up in arms about the integrity of any parties involved.

If this degrades to a mud slinging online slander session, maybe there is a problem. Until then, let's just call this a questionable jab at the competition.

Nick is a good guy and I'm sure this was NOT a calculated attempt to do any damage to RSI. We should all relax and hope this situation results in some intense competition at the drag strip. I'm still waiting for the RSI Unlimited vs. King Snake rematch. Now both parties step up and let's make it a clean fight.

My .02 Cents,
Scott

I believe at the time that this took place it was done as a JOKE and no more. From that time 2 almost 3 months ago things were tense to say the least. 3 months later I believe that was completely forgot about until guess who found it, John Hennessey. To start some sh** he called this person close to Gerald knowing that he could start what he is so good at starting himself. JH is most likely sitting at home getting his jollies off.
Like Jay said, A phone call would have and could have ended this entire episode but certain others would not have it that way. I got a call from an unnamed person telling me about the site. I asked him to keep a cool head and this will go away, poor taste, fun or not.
As bad as this might be the people calling Gerald and the person that called me enjoys this type of S**t and would sooner die than make a phone call towards a peaceful ending.

With the fastest vipers in the world in one major city and this being a mostly male sport. Things like this in the racing business is going to happen. I know this was a joke, and not done in bad taste. The RSI banner takes the old TNT slogan and changes it up telling everyone that they are the new guys in town that broke the old records, but it is shot at TNT which I thought was actually funny. All of the Texas tuners are great guys. I have done business with all of them in one way or another. But with this kind of competition it will get bumpy sometimes.

Once at work I plan to purchase
RSIINC.COM, .org,.net and then buy racingsolutions.com,net and .org and maybe .US, then I will buy racingsolutionsinc.net, .org and .US, then buy racingsolutionsincorporated. org, net and US.
There I will own them all and if anyone looks them up they will all open to my site.
Just like the purchase by Nick a Joke, time-out

Saturday night there seemed to be peace in the valley between the tuners. At least that is what I saw sitting around eating and watching the tuners talking.
