SCT or VEC tunning?

What is better? Does VEC really gives you better tunning, better HP than SCT? I've seen posts that claims SCT can give you up to 30HP what about VEC?
I understand that SCT is more stealth mode, meaning I can bring it back to the stock program if I need to take the car to the dealership and VEC is a piggyback that spotted by dealer right away.

You are correct. The VEC piggy backs and you need to install hardware. More fine tuning available with the VEC. Also you can write more tunes. With the SCT I believe you only get a few programmed to the unit. SCT is stealthly.

My preference, screw the dealer use a VEC.

Im not sure if its a question of how much more power you will make.

Im sure if VEC or SCT is custom tune on the dyno each should yield similar hp results. If there is only a few hp difference for a custom tune naturally aspirated application no point to cut and splice wiring with the VEC in my opinion.

As software is constantly being improved I recently heard the new software from SCT allows more rpm interval refinement of the tune and more control of the ECM parameters. Your tuner will know allot more.

Obviously if you order a preprogram SCT rather than a custom dyno tune i doubt that you will get the best power.

With my NA mods i gained around 30-35rwhp with the VEC3 over the factory ECM.
