Side Sill Stone Guards

Got mine today and stopped what I was doing to install them. Popped the front tires off and had them installed in 10 minutes. The fit was perfect and with the tires back on you would never know the car didn't come that way. Great job Dan and Thanks.

This was by far my biggest issue with my Gen3. After only 350 miles on the odo., I already had some chips along the lip,/wheel well area. nice fix here... PICS, PLEASE!!

Pics of the side sill protectors installed on my FE 2006 and my 2008 Vert. On the 06 I had to remove a rectangular mud flap kind of thing behind the tire. The 08 did not have this piece. On both cars there was a slight bending of the guard where it attaches behind the tire. The guards are flexible enough so this is not a problem. Not sure how the carbon fiber pieces would work though. Sorry about the crazy angles on the photos.

Completely optional and reversible, but original intention was texture towards tire, as it will hide the stone blasting of the plastic better. Also, back side [sill side] is mostly covered anyway.

08+ don't have the extra panel, as they found it really didn't help anything! The bend in the guards is normal, the mounting surfaces aren't flat as you know. Loosely install all fasteners, start with middle outer screw, then work down and behind the tire, top screw last for best fit. There is a bit of play in the screw mounting so they can be moved in or out depending on car/fitment desired. No problem with upcoming CF variant, just cant use thick and rigid CF that cant contour some. Heat will help in forming over time in either case.

Is it me or the camera angles, but why did it not taper in at the very top? Had it done that, I think it would look very good, basically ZO6 rear style. From what I can see in the pictures, it bumps out at the top and then comes down, which makes it look very added on.

Can you provide some better pictures? Mabe ones that were not taken in 12 inches of space in a garage where you can only take a picture from the top.

The customer may have simply pushed them as far out as possible before securing them down. They can be adjusted & tilted in at the top quite a bit on most cars, as the screws and sills themselves have a good amount of movement by design.

Hopefully these are better pics. I mounted the textured side towards the back of the car and the smooth side towards the tire. It seemed to match the inner fender liner better this way plus you don't see much of the back of it anyway. In response to the question of the taper at the top, mine are mounted inbound as much as I can get them. Not sure why there they protrude a bit at the top. In response to the question of the taper at the top, mine are mounted inbound as much as I can get them. Not sure why there they protrude a bit at the top. Honestly, in person you don't notice it too much and protection of the sills was my main concern.

Yep, you can see it a bit in these pictures compared to the others. It makes it tough to tell how far out it is sticking, as the reflection off the paint makes it look a LOT further than it really is on the side.

I had that same concern when they were first being developed. But installed it's hardly noticable.

Put mine on today and then took them off and tapered the top. Looks way better and is an easy deal. Just filed the corner to a much larger radius and then sanded the edges with 150 grit and then with 220. Much better IMO. The fit was excellent.

Pics really aren't that good because the reflection makes them look bigger than they really are. I chose to put the textured side towards the tire.
