silly vec2 question..

I am looking at buying a Vec2.

Do I need to also get a smart card burner or can I use my computer to tuen and download the program? Does it come with a basic card? If so, when I put the card in, would it over-ride any settings I download? Then when I pull the card out, would it revert to my race programming (assuming the card was a stock program and the race program was downloaded to the box)?

Buy the smart card burner from Roe along with the Vec2. Otherwise you have to use the box as a burner, hooking the box to your computer with a serial cable. It is easier to just use the card burner with your laptop.

The Vec2 comes with a basic card and some blank spare cards.

Whichever card you swipe through the box last will be the program the box uses.

You don't have to have the burner but it is cheap and makes your life MUCH easier!

Don't bother with the burner. If you have a loptop you can directly connect to the VEC2 with the serial cable. I upload the programs right from the laptop to the VEC2. I am not sure why you would spend the time burning a card versus uploading directly. The upload takes less than 2 seconds.
