I already went to that, and another site as well. It didn't give production numbers for 2002 GTS's, and the sticker was a base price which is tough to go by. Base, and "all in" price are usually very different numbers. Someone must have the sticker for thier 96 GTS out there.

I'm always annoyed by people who want to ask how much the car costs....I guess they're not meaning to pry, but it seems like a personal question. I guess quoting MSRP is the best way to go. Or if I'm really annoyed, I tell them the car costs $100,000.

BTW, MSRP on the '96 was $69,300, including gas guzzler tax and destination charge.

Even if that's the GTS production from 2002, that makes a Total GTS/ACR production of 7877 units. That is still a pretty darn low count considering that's SEVEN years worth of cars. How many Vette's do you think they made Total for those years combined ??

intersting.. the page for the 96 viper specs makes no mention that the gts was given the gen II motor with the 450 hp rating for that model year... the motor listed and documented is the 415 hp motor used solely for the rt10's..

there are separate links for the 96 gts and 96 rt10 on the main specs page, but they both link to the same page.. should this be corrected or am i just being picky?

since that page is purely informational and may give misinformation to the individual researching the 96 viper gts, should there at least be an asterisk in there somewhere? after all, thats part of the viperclub site, not some ill informed enthusiasts site..

At least a quarter million Vettes were built over that seven year period I would say. Over 10,000 Z06's alone were built for '01 and supposedly even more for '02. Makes the Viper that much more special; the rarity, that is.

Wow, my 96 GTS is #00052, so they are practically brothers!!!! I am sure the first few people to buy the 96 GTS's paid a mint in dealer price boosts. Any original buyers of the early 96 GTS's care to comment on how much they paid over sticker?

Vette's are seriously overproduced. That's one of the reasons I sold my 01 Z06 in October.

Have you seen the prices on C3's and C4's lately. LOL

The GTS will be quite a collectors car someday.

Now on the 01 Z06 there were slightly more than 5700 produced, something like 5763.

I hate to sound stupid, but whenever I stop somewhere, someone's asking questions about it, and Viper GTS's in general. One question I've been asked more than once is how many GTS's have been made from '96 to 2002..... I have no clue, do you know ?? Also, one that might be a little easier is what was the sticker price for a '96 GTS, and what are they at today (2002) ?? I know what the guy I bought it from paid for it Brand New, but it was way over the sticker since the crook, I meant to say dealer, boosted the price on him when he bought it brand new. The guy I bought it from was one of the first in the country to get his hands on one. Supposedly it's the 49th to come off the line #00049. Kinda cool trivia, but I don't think it'll ever mean anymore than that.
