Due to the overwhelming (and flattering) response in reply to requests for the burn-out picture, Neil UK has been working night and day making Mpeg burnout videos All cleaver stuff (and beyond me!). Unfortunately the quality of film in the first place wasn't all that good from my old camcorder, which I just placed on the floor and left recording! I did however, have quality tires ...hmm...did have!

Thanks Chuck. A custom fit! Ceramic coated tri-y headers, and 3" straight through catless system with just side sill resonators, out to rear exit, all in stainless steel. I was very pleased with the sound, my neighbors aren't!! It's loud!

Mav S,
Great video, your car is almost a mirror image of my own. It makes me want to go out right now and burn a little rubber.

Neil,

That RT is the Famous "ITLL FLY" from So Cal owned by Jim B. Nadine knows the car and the owner and can tell you all about it. Quite the car with the Autoform front and wing, lots of power enhancers, etc. Jim runs it on the street and Viper Days events. I took that video during a cruise with the So Club last year when someone asked for a "burnout contest". That video shows who won, although Wayne S., aka Bad Viper, made a good show also.

Sadly "It'll Fly" hit the oval wall earlyier this year. Luckily Jim B survived it, but 'Jake the snake' unfortunatley did not. That's the most awesome RT10 I've been in...fond and wild memories...

(dug up the thread)

I've never done a burnout yet, mainly because I don't know how, and I don't want to plough my car into the ditch doing the wrong set of manoeuver...

Can someone clue in the newbie?
How do you get in the burnout mode, and very important, how to safely come out of it?

I just saw the one vid with the green metallic rt/10 that got real squirelly after launch... almost went in ditch on driver's left, starting from the right side of the road...

I'm thinking the sequence could be
on clutch
on gas, rev up high
off clutch & on foot brake (quickly!)
enjoy
off brake & on clutch (quickly!)
off gas

Wow, just got to see Nadine's burnout2...holly smokes. I guess that bring up also "point nose of car upwind" to get the best shot.

It looks like Yahoo killed the download location. If someone want to e-mail me the video ([email protected]), then I'll post then on the Pacific Northwest VCA Web Page and post the link. This way we won't have to worry about download or bandwidth restrictions.

Mayasa has a good point, but let me throw my 2-cents in.

From a guy that has to clean a lot of 1/4 panels, instead of vasoline, use a spray cooking oil like "PAM". You can't see it on the car and will wash off with a hose with absolutely no damage to the finish.
