So I Went To The Dealer Today To Check On My Car And........ (FUNNY)

Well, I went to check on my car today at the dealer and was told a pretty interesting story. I brought the car there for an oil change and had to have the engine light checked because it was on. So the manager comes up to me and says,

Manager: "We found something interesting."

Me: "Damn, interesting means expensive."

Manager: "No but it is interesting. The reason your engine check light was on is because your GAS FLAP was inside the gas tank."

Me: DUMBFOUNDED

Apparently the last time I got gas, the attendant did not even pay attention and put the cap on without even looking. IDIOTS! At least it was nothing major. Seems with this car, I find a lot of "interesting" things (animal nests, gas tank flaps, mysterious rubbing noises, etc).

I think my OCD is worse for letting some dude put a scratch/gouge in the paint and setting the cap on the car burning the eternal ring. Use purell after you pump, it kills cooties.

When passing through NJ either enrout to Watkins Glenn I too thought "why is some guy pumping gas for us when we can?" I too was told it was against the law. What is this some Mob-laden initiative to get people jobs? :lol:

Don't fret about OCD. I ran a helpdesk at a hospital in Chicago for two years and every now and then the Bloodlab would have a call that their computers were down and someone needed to restart/troubleshoot/repair them. Oh yeah, there were the Gloved keyboards and the nongloved keyboards. Heck No I didn't Help them!!!

One of our engineers, visiting from NJ, pulled up to a full service pump and was charged about 50% MORE. The first words out of his mouth when he saw the receipt. ***!

I live in NJ and yes it is ******** that they make useless jobs. Most new stations have pay at the pump so it is truly pointless. With that said I have never had an attendant pump my gas in the Viper. I always insist on doing it myself. I have never gotten a hard time about it because they can see the condition of the car.

Oregon has a similar useless "make work" law. You can't pump your own gas. When I was up there, I would plop a large gas can on the ground. The attendant would fill that. I'd take it back home -- then fill the Viper.

I have pumped my own gas before and used to wash the hands too but MANY of them had horrible bathrooms and some key on a stick. Stupidness. Oh well. Now when I have to pump my own I look for a BIG NEW gas station so I know they have a decent restroom. I am bad I know.
