I went to the mall at lunch to buy my wife a Birthday present. When I got back to the car a piece of notebook paper was stuck under the wiper.

It said:
Dude, Idiot, only Mustangs have skunk stripe, u r dumb , fix if F@#$%@, I am a girl & I know this.

I am that glad their stupidity and jealousy didn''t include a few key stripes for emphesis.

This is the first negative experiance in 8 months/ 8K miles of ownership.

I don't quite get it.

Laugh it off, and be GLAD no DAMAGE was done to your car, just a note left...geesh...!
(We just do not take the Viper to malls or places where we cannot see it...this is what happens to tooooooo many people, so we've kinda learned from what happens to THEM...NOT saying this is YOUR fault, by NOOOO means at all!!!! But, gotta be on the defensive ALWAYS with our Vipers)....I'd just be glad no damage was done. ~juli

I am really glad that nothing happened to your car but that is the reason why mine is a weekend driver or I will drive it places where I can keep my eyes on it at all times!. Way to many jealous people in this world that have no respect for other people property or there good fortunes.

^ I agree that I don't leave my Viper when I can't keep an eye on it, but it is truly said that people do such things. I have a drink thrown on my prowler when I was at dinner one night. When I was finished I saw some purple drink all over the car. Thank goodness that it was still wet and I just took it to a self clean place and sprayed it off. People can be **** losers.

One of the only negative things I have found that come along with Viper ownership.

Do other exotic type car owners experience the same thing? I have a friend that has a Lambo and never hear him say stuff like that. :dunno:

I had some fat idiot yell out that "Vipers ****" as I drove past him one day a few years ago....I guess he thought it would impress his friends....I'm sure he knows his cars as he was driving some P.O.S. that he bought when he graduated from Middle School at 19 years old.

Aaron

I think we all have stories about negative-ness with our Vipers...yes, it's plain and simple jealousy...but if those people could just IMAGINE themselves in OUR place...how long it TOOK to EARN this Viper...well, they just don't think like that. We've gotten thumbs-DOWN from ricers PASSING us, as on a typical cruise, we won't speed (radar detector and all)...so they think they're getting one over on us, we laugh and 'let them' think that.
Lesson learned: NEVER take the Viper where you CANNOT see it...take a daily driver to the mall...even THEN I park mine far away...all alone...is it alone when I come back out? NOPER!!!! Someone ALWAYS has to park right next to me, in WAYYY open spaces!!! Have to laugh...nothing else one CAN do...but be proactive. ~juli

Actually, I find the Viper is one of the best choices for damage NOT being done to the car. Emminently worthy of respect the Viper is much safer than an Custom car I find. I've had nothing but compliments on my car. And maybe a proposition or two.

Historically, I used to drive Pro-streeters. My current 440 Duster has a key scratch in the pass door. I built a tubbed and framed '71 GTX that had stripes and pearle paint (Blue over Black - like my Viper) and it got a key GOUGE the entire length of the passenger side at a Mall. Malls are where most of the losers hang out and their jealousies are, unfortunately, a fact of life.

I don't drive the Duster hardly at all because I worried about it the entire time I had it out of the garage. I have no significant worries with the Viper as it seems to get negative feedback from only a small percentage of vette owners and they are old enough that they don't damage other vehicles. I think that there is less jealousy about Vipers because of their price range. Anyone can own a Pro-streeter, but Vipers are in a completely different class and less at risk to vandalism than Pro-streeters, Mustangs and vettes.

I came out of a mall in Savannah, GA one time and saw a note on my windshield. I was thinking "sweet, I bet its a girl's phone number!" It actually said "you seem to have a bad coolant leak, coolant is all under your front bumper :curse: :curse: :curse: " Savannah Dodge then ripped me off for $400, to tell me my radiator cap was loose. They also lied and said the cap wasnt rated to work on a Viper, so they could sell me a new stock cap (it was a Roe Racing cap).

Really glad it was only a note...and my guess is it was not sent by a girl but who knows.

Sure hope you purchased something nice for your wife.
So goes a good deed in a weary world.

Try to keep all the nice enthusiastic people on your mind and forget about it.

I had mine parked at a theater once (in the BACK of the lot), when my wife and I walked out to the car after the movie there was some $#@$#@ kid in a souped up ricer doing dougnuts AROUND my car! There was a crowd of kids watching him, I yelled and ran up to him and when I hit the FOB lock button to make the horn beep he realized I was the owner and sped off. He was VERY close and could have easily hit it, smoke from his tires was everywhere. I was **********. First and last time I parked it in a public place.

Had a chewed up piece of gum placed on the rear bumper once when I went to a local college to pick someone up, the car was in the lot only like 15 minutes. There are some real losers out there. Guess that's why the payday loan places do so well!!! :)

Yeah I did get something nice for my wife. I usually don't park the car where I can't see it. Today was an exception!
Last Sunday, my family went out to lunch. I had the Viper parked on the curb right out side. Halfway thru lunch this guy decides to teach his wife how to parallel park in the space behind my car. She missed my car by inches. I let him know that this was not an appropriate spot to teach his wife how to park. At least this was not malicious, just misguided.
I really enjoy your collective humor on this site.
I don't drive the car everyday, but the weather has been so awesome I want to enjoy all I can before the rains come.

I haven't really had any negative experiences but I did have a funny one.A couple days after I picked up my Viper, I was in the mall(not with the Viper) buying my wife a birthday present and BMW had several cars on the mall floor for advertising,I was wearing my work uniform (I own a commercial pest management company) looking at a 325 or something and some guy says to me "maybe someday you will be able to afford one""
I just chuckled and said I sure hope so!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You Sissies. I park my car everywhere and in 9 years & 120K miles I have had no problems at all. I do park way out in parking lots, but that's just to avoid idiots slinging doors without looking.

Look for more reasons to drive your cars, not more reasons to keep them parked it in the garage.

I'm with you. Only one summer to go on so far, but I figure if I park far enough out and stay inside of my spot (people who take up extra spaces for no reason :omg: seem to irk people more than having a nice car would alone) there will be no reason for someone to do anything. Also, as far out as I park, anyone near my car would be completely noticeable by anyone including any cameras pointed at the parking lot (always a good idea to look for those :)). I have come out to find cars parked right next to the Viper, but it's usually a fan or a dad and his son checking out the "race car". :headbang:

I don't quite get it.

I don't think that note is all that surprising. Someone who probably isn't familiar with a Viper, sees a car that looks like a really expensive foreign sportscar with stripes on it. They never saw stripes on a Lamgorghini, or a Ferrari, or an Aston Martin, so they thought you just had poor taste. In some ways I agree with that sentiment; however, the stripes look right on this car, since it is a throw back to the Shelby Daytona Coupe.

I personally think that rear wing spoilers look ridiculous except on a full-up race car on the track. I wouldn't leave a note like that unless I saw one on an Aston Martin Vanquish !

LOL!!! Many, many people have no idea what one is worth. They assume that looks mean everything. You should have walked the idiot out to your Viper and said, "I guess I'll never be able to afford one! But I can buy you and your company!" :D

I've noticed that many people are jealous of another persons fast car (a.k.a. Viper). I've had beaters come close to my vehicle to piss me off. I've had fast bikes run along side my rear bumper reving their engines, etc. So needless to say I never leave my Viper unattended. To many punks cooked up on drugs and don't care about others property.

Think of the karma, though. Maybe next time you'll walk out and find a pair of perfectly molded boob prints on the driver window. :D

I've got a friend with a b/w GTS. We were in his garage one day and he just happened to glance at the hood and notice 7 lip prints where someone had kissed the hood. We had done a carshow a couple weeks prior and he hadnt driven the car since, so he's thinking thats when it happened :D

I'm with you 100%! With over 6 years and nearly 100k miles of Viper driving, I have had no problems either, and I've parked overnight on the streets of DC!
