Sorry that I have not posted but it has been hard for me to talk about the loss of my Viper.

Back in January I wrecked my 2006. I was not hurt but my Viper was totaled. The insurance company made a good settlement with me.

Don't know why I took the Viper out for a ride on that cold morning in January. Our area had some bad weather a few days before and I hit a slick spot on the highway. I over corrected and wound up in a ravine. Still hard to talk about it.

But I will have another Viper delivered soon by Woodhouse. It is a very special, show car condition, low mileage Blue/White GTS. I loved my 06 and will miss it but I also like the look and lines of the GTS. All model Vipers are great.

Woodhouse Dodge was extremely helpful and worked close with me on getting another Viper and made me a very good deal. A special thanks to Bill and Mark-Great people.

I have missed posting on the forums and I hope you will understand that I needed some time to set back and think about what I wanted to do.

Sorry to read that another Viper bites the dust, but you are all right and thats what matters. Woodhouse is a class act and will take care of you, and as Juli stated please post some pictures..

Coulda happened to just about any of us. I know I've had some close calls.

Get back in the saddle. You will be a wiser and better driver this time around. But if you wreck a B/W GTS you will be banished for life. :)

Congrats on your GTS!!! Agree that it will be "a looker" forever.
Hope to see it sometime, noting that we have held two meetings in Louisville already this year...with more to come.

Thanks everyone

GTS should be here soon. Absolutely no Super Charger-The Viper does have side exhaust a few engine & transmission goodies and a custom interior. Has some bling in the engine bay.

Now if I could pay Dave to make me a rear diffuser and one of dem dar front splitters I would be all set-then maybe get a wing- then------------------. Here I go-haven't even got the car yet-man I am nuts.

But I have to admit it feels good to get back in the mood again ,and it is hard for a man my age to get in the right kind of mood. Hey- I let my wife read this and she said "AMEN".

Explaining Viper things to you
When you say Dave and wing in the same sentence I usually head for Auto Zone to gaze some more. Window shopping on aisle 4 ya know. I can even get the white spray paint there.

I need to go to one of the Ky meets.

Ill probably go to the Somerset Ky car show in May which is Mopar month. Possibly we can meet there for the show on Saturday. Hope we have a lot of Vipers at the show.

In the past, on certain months, I have seen near 2000 cars at the show.

Hey Hensley

I would like to see your Viper beast-bet you like that Paxton SC. How about that torque?

How do you like the Kumho's?

Hey Gene, I love the car. It dynoed 594 rwhp/525 rwtq on the Mustang Dyno that Woodhouse uses. Thing is a rocket after about 4 grand. The Kumho's are very good when heated up. Nothing will hold the car in 1st and 2nd, but they do quite well inspite of the power and torque they are trying to plant.

Good to hear from you sir and again welcome back!!!!!:headbang::headbang:

I had about the same HP in my other Viper. Man I would like to drive your Viper-I promise I wont wreck it:D

Tires are a problem with that much power.

Had made up my mind to go back to the 19" Hoosier A6 or R6. With a SC installed I had the A6 on the rear for about a year and man do they stick even much better than the Cups. Very little warm up, if any, was needed. But they had weak side walls and 3000-4000 max tire ware and I noticed a little less grip at around 2200 miles. If I had a SC on mine I would give the R6 a try. I got caught in the rain a few times with the A6 and as long as I was careful with the driving things were ok. If my car was a every day driver I would not use the Hoosier.

With about 510 crank Hp in my GTS I am going try the 19" Invo's-they will be wrapped around my chromed 5 spokes.(will keep the chromed 17" stock rims). I had the 5 spokes chromed by Cal Chrome and was about ready to put them on the SRT. Thank goodness I did bot have them installed.

Should have the GTS by the end of next week. After a warm up I think the Invo's will do ok on the GTS at that HP. Ill find out soon.

I am not going to drive the thing if it is cold outside-It has to be over 100 degree temp-guess I need to move to Zona;) Could it be I learned a lesson-YES YES. I promised myself that I will keep it a tad under 160 miles per hour.;) Welllll--Take the 1 off-that will be a little better and safer for me.

I am getting a little toooo spicy for my age. You know a Viper is the only car that makes me feel 50 years younger. Shoot- just to set in one makes me feel good and helps me forget my aches and pains.

Good to hear you talking like this again....missed hearing from you. No problem at all you can drive my car anytime.:2tu:

I think I will take your advise and try the Hoosier next time. My car has seen very little highway time due to work and weather, but I plan to get a little seat time this summer.:drive:

Let me know when yours comes in.....I'll make a trip down and we'll switch out for a little while one day.;):headbang:

Glad you're OK and getting through the grieving process. After all that work into the car, I can't imagine what that would feel like... A B/W GTS is a winning replacement choice!!

I've had so many near misses that I know how fast things can go bad in a big, unrecoverable, way. That, and 12 years on my own odometer since buying my GTS and I'm pretty sure I'm always at least one step behind the car when pushing it now. These are the only cars that I've consistently driven back into my driveway after a day of fun thinking "whew, made it back without any damage again...".

Hi, Gene. Hope things are well with you all.

If you can, please drop me an e-mail (for e-mail address clarification) as Club Sec. got a "bounce back" with his recent attempt to send you the June newsletter.

Have a great summer,

Steve

Whoah Gene, glad you're ok.

Coming from a blown GEN III, an N/A GEN II is going to feel pretty weak. It's a huge difference in power. If you change your mind, put a Roe blower on it!

P.S. I ended up with one of my rear tires hanging off the edge of a ravine (I could not see the bottom) a couple years ago...talk about a scarry experiance
