Does anybody know someone who can modify the factory 2000 RT/10 speaker enclosure/glovebox dash part to work with the Autoform rollbar? We want to maintain the factory interior look as much as possible.
Autoform sent replacement pieces with the rollbar. You can keep your original piece and install their piece. It's somewhat cut to fit already. I had to do some additional trimming to make it fit however.
We have the Autoform speaker enclosure. Since we often show the car, we prefer the fit and finish on the factory enclosure. We were wondering if anyone knows how to modify the factory enclosure with very smooth cuts or trimmed cuts. I know Apex Motorsports did one, but it required very careful manual cutting with a razor. We were hoping someone has this procedure nailed, or at least knows how to make smooth cuts in vinyl-coated PVC.
I have the setup for a GTS (similar to the RT/10 but without speakers). I didn't want to lose my glove box or factory look, so we trimmed the factory pieces and then used the Autoform supplied rear cover piece. It looks good, though not primo car show quality.
Said at Star Tech Viper (Anaheim) installed the bar for me. He has experience with this. His phone number is 714 632 9998

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Said at Star Tech Viper was very helpful. The Autoform rollbar is very well made. By carefully using an Xacto knife and the Autoform rear dash piece as a template, you can obtain a factory look with the factory dash parts. See photo:
Tony, I don't think a pic will show you what you want to see. The trick for the installation is to cut straight back from one side of each of the three holes through both vinyl and PVC, and to cut on the other side of the holes just enough to score the PVC from the back. The Vinyl then acts as a hinge to fold those three pieces out of the way for install. When you fold them back in place, the three screw/snaps for the rear window hold those pieces down. From the top there is only one visible cut for each hole.
