:confused:Had a buddy that put a Squires Turbo System on his BMW and he said to check it out for my Viper. He has awesome performance with it! What is everybody's feelings on this turbo. Possible issues, etc...? I called them and the guy said there is a company called KRC performance that knows Vipers pretty well in Orlando that just installed one on a SRT Truck and had 750HP results but had also performed a few other mods. The guy at Squires said to be safe run a single turbo system at 5#'s of boost and I would produce in the neighborhood of 130-140HP rear wheel gain. System ran about 5K plus install. :dunno:

The system works however it's only as good as the install - find a local shop in your area that has tuning and fabrication experience.

There is always margin for improvement that can be implemented through your technician's experience.

Good luck!

:) The guy said the same thing. Need technician that can do the correct install. The place in Orlando is only 4 hours from me so if this ends up being an option I would head that way! He said that the turbo was good for around 1020HP at the crank of course with extensive mods which I would not be interested in doing anyway. Just looking to bump up 100-150rwhp. I do not want to do much engine work "but" if a "little" engine work would bring the numbers up drastically I might be interested! I would have to call KRC to find out options. I am also looking at S/C option. :drive:

A single T-04 76 GTS is way too small of an exhaust housing for an 8 liter V-10.

Peak TQ is around 4200 RPM on an unloaded dynojet, Probably more like 3200 RPM on the street and it falls off hard after that.

See if they can include a bigger turbo for your application.

Actually they do. The one that I looked at for my BMW was $1300 less. STS said the larger one that I need is around $4300 plus a few other items I would need. Says it is no less or more restrictive than the muffler system and no other mods need to be used, upgraded exhaust, cats, etc... says it is designed to run off stock car. KRC performance in Orlando has knowledge of our cars and would be able to help with boosting over 5#'s if needed with other mods but I probably will not do anything over that for stock motor, he said that was the safest application for the motor being high compression. :dunno: I am still gathering knowledge since I am new to the car but sounds like this could be an option???? :)

I had an STS on my SRT-10 Ram...it was a nightmare. They were unable to tune it (STS and Roe Racing). It ran sooo lean it knew it was going to destroy my motor so I removed it before it cost me an engine. If I had it to do all over again I would have went straight to a supercharger. Much, much easier to tune since the application of boost is very linear. My truck could easily hit full boost at 1500 rpms. Their system for the SRT Ram was underdeveloped to say the least. Many...well almost all the people who put the system on their trucks blew a piston or two.

I am still not sure what I am going to do. I am still gathering info. Certainly don't want to damage my motor!!! :omg: Thanks for the info none the less!!! :2tu:

A bigger turbo would be nice you could hit the 900 to 1000 with no problem at all. That may be my next step but I plan on enjoying the 796rwhp at this time.:drive:

:dunno: After talking with Paolo I think I would be concerned about the inlet and outlet size for optimum performance and overall size of the turbo needed to clear the bottom of the car with the rear mount system. It may work well but where will it fit??? :dunno:

Sounds like you may need a set of TT's from Paolo or one of the other many tuners. Make sure you do your research and enjoy the car you don't want a dyno queen.

:)Believe me...It will be a while before I do anything! I want to listen and learn as much as I can so I do not waste time nor money! I just purchased the car a couple months ago so I am not in a hurry. Too bad the STS is so big but apparently that one shop in Orlando has performed it on the car. I will talk with them tomorrow and relay my concerns from what I have learned here. I cannot discount people's experience here on the boards though nonetheless. All I think I really want is to add about 150rwhp give or take as reasonable as possible. At least for now!!! LOL :rolaugh: We'll see!

That doesn't sound like a turbo system problem, thats a tuning issue. Not sure what software is available for the SRT Rams but with a proper tune that should not ever be a problem. Although I am sure I am beating a dead horse on this issue.

Not at all...you are 100% correct. Just makes me very uneasy to do business with a company that would produce and sell a product that can kill a 10K plus engine and not think twice about it. If it ain't ready don't sell it...

I took the truck to the dyno some ten times with Zero luck. I will never make that mistake again. It's like trusting that guy from Texas (you know who I am referring to) who keeps getting in magazines because he can make 1000+ HP in a Viper motor. TRUST...its worth the money.
