SSR wheel on ACR?

I have a set of SSR wheels I've been using for track wheels with my GTS (18s). Is anyone running these on their ACR? If yes, any feedback you can give me would be great?

I have a set also but haven't run them yet. I understand you need a parking brake relo kit to mount them. Talk to Mark J at Woodhouse.

There is a thread about this in Members section. You need to keep the same fr/rr rake so that means some height adjustment in the rear.

I wish I could say yes but it will be Feb at the earliest. I'll let you know. Wouldn't dare try to sneak off to the track without letting you know. She's getting her first oil change tomorrow and I'm switching over to Motul. I don't think I want to bother with a relocation kit to have a second set of wheels for her unless it's really straightfoward. I'll give Mark a call.

It's probably the easiest mod I've done to my 2005.

First you get the car up & take the wheels off. Take off the frame mounting tabs for the E-brake cables. Disconnect the cables at the caliper. Remove the lever part of the caliper and stash it away in a box. Bolt on the Aluminum E-brake relocation blocks in place of the lever. Cris-cross the cables over the rear-end housing and attach to the brake caliper. Strap the cables back to the frame.

It didn't really take me more than an hour I'd say.

I'm gonna run 18s all the way around for the track too.
Had the ebrake relocation kit done by DC.

Not all 18 in. wheels need ebrake reloc. kit. Depends on wheel offset.
JonB could tell you about the SSRs but I think they are OK and will clear.

Treesnake, I have 18in SSRs all around on my 2005. I did not try and put them on before I did the e-brake relocation, but I think you are right.

It did look like they would fit, just not sure how much clearance there would be.

We have a BUNCH of SSRs on ACRs for track and even street. It 100% requires the cable-relocation kit, as described. As noted, there was a lengthy thread on this subject several mos ago....

I run mostly SSR's on my 09 ACR, sometimes Forgelines.

I also ran SSR's on my 01 GTS ACR.

I prefer the SSR's due to the better (OE) offset of the wheels and they are lighter than most other wheels.

Wish they were still making them.

Are the SSR wheels as structurely stiff as the ACR wheels? I would like to know the actual load/deflection ratio compared to the ACRs. This is a big deal so you don't sacrifice alignment specs and precision for a little amount of weight savings over a better overall wheel.

The load deflection limit tests are done with a hydraulic device, but in the actual world the tire choice and alignment and suspension and downforce will dictate the 'limits' that 98% of drivers will encounter. The 'perfect storm' of traction/grip will not exceed the SSR or ACR wheel load, and the minimal deflection might annoy a Michael Schumacher protoge....

I have to suspect that the 6-spoke cold-forged SSR is close to the ACR 5-spoke front; but I suspect the 18" SSR 6-spoke rear might have LESS deflection than the 19" OE rear ACR.

Much more theory than facts at play here
