Started my build today with the help of a friend who works on European cars...We are swapping heads for some ported ones. The plan was to actually do the paxton install but my buddy insisted on the heads first. Took us a total of 3 hours to take everything apart which was our goal for today and this is where we are...

I need to get some head/instake/exhaust gaskets, whats the best place to get them quick. Also should I get new head studs or use the old ones?

Hopefully DC performance is open tomorrow, I have a friend going down to LA, he can pick the studs/gaskets up for me if they are open.

Ahhh that looks so familiar. Great project. Always fun to do things your self! What heads are you going to run? Are you getting a stock paxton kit or will you go with a DLM or Heffner set up? I had Heffners kit on my old car for a while and it looked so sick compared to the stock Paxton set up. Plus the extra power didn't hurt :) PM me if you want more info.

I'd do BB Dave (jonb) or Roe Racing pwr steerign pulley and bracket while you're stripped down. Once the Paxton is installed I would hate to try and take everything off just for a stupid pulley or bracket failure.

3 hours to strip down the engine??? Wow.

I bought a used paxton which came off of underground car, it's polished and has a smaller pulley. Not sure on specs of it...I guess I'll find out after it gets tuned at DC...

I do have the power steering bracket and pulley sitting on the side, just waiting for my buddy to bring a pulley remover, also doing the 170 thermostat while at it along with woodhouse engine/tranny mounts...got head gaskets today from dodge, make sure you guys order the gaskets from a gen 4 because they are about 30 each compared to gen 2 which are 350 each, thanks 1tony1 for saving me some money there...

With the help of my friend we had the engine stripped within 3 hours, taking something apart is always easy, lets see how long before it gets put back together. We are taking the cam out today, from what I've read that's the hardest thing to get to...

I would think a VEC would suffice as well if he doesn't have the AEM. Also a set of David Weavers dual in tank pumps will do the job or just MSD booster for a quick fix.

stay away from the BAP for this setup.... weaver has a nice 2 pump setup.

Yeah I used weavers set up on my heffner/paxton kit. Great product I also ran top mount fuel rails and a new bigger fuel line along with an inline fuel filter. Used the stock fuel line as a return line. Along with VEC2 and a tune by PBJ.

I've been trying to get more info on the kit and going back and fourth between two previous owners, just found out it's not an underground kit, underground actually took it off to put twin turbos on the car. The kit was originally done by Larry Macedo, who I've no idea is...The setup came with a split second box and the fuel system that paxton comes with. To do this right what are all the components that I would need as far as fuel system goes? I might do the paxton install and tow it to DC for fuel system and tuning...

I can't find anything on weavers dual pump setup...any links?

Larry Macedo did both my Roe and my Paxton GTSs. He does good work. [email protected], is his email and I suggest emailing him ASAP for his input. Send him a description of the car the system came from. My ACR Paxton has stock pumps and the intank pump was replaced with a Walbro because of the large RWHP on Nitrous. Measure the diameter of the pulley and someone will tell you the boost it should build.

talk to DC but if youre running a smaller pulley (more boost) a stock pump is asking for trouble

the split second is solid, i have it on mine. again ask DC since they are the one tuning it

hey 97snk...that pulley is setup for 10 or 11psi I think. Believe it measured out to 3.25'' if I remember correctly.

Split second is a good product. I would talk to Lary and see if he can give you any details about this set up that you might no already know but the car that is blower came off might have been a cream puff, a 510 stroker or even a stock forged motor, you just don't know. I would definitely have DC recommend a fuel set up that will be specific to your build.

Finally got in touch with Greg and according to Greg the cam is called a *reverse pattern* cam, meaning the exhaust duration is less than the intake. Typically they only run cams like that on mild turbo cars.

So the cam is for turbo and the heads flow 40 cfm better than stock on the intake, and 20 cfm better on the exhaust.

The paxton I've makes 10 or 11 pounds of boost so I think everything falls into place. I m going to start putting everything back together this weekend.

Do you guys think that it's a good idea to wait before paxton install and leave the car N/A for a few weeks or should i do head/cam/paxton all at once...

Did Greg say to leave that camshaft in the engine? I think that I'd change the camshaft.

I'd also instal the supercharger and get it tuned. Unless there are no changes the engine needs to be tuned nearly every change that you make. The Paxton will require fuel and timing adjustments that probably depend on the heads and camshaft, exhaust, etc. You could re-assemble, then tune then disassemble and instal the Paxton, then retune ... but for what purpose would you be doing the extra work and spending that extra money?

I believe Greg said that the head/cam I purchased will work with paxton but not for na setup so I'll be swapping the 708 for the turbo cam and also be doing everything at once...

I don't remember if you mentioned purchasing a water/methanol injection system?

I have a Roe Racing system on my GTS (10#) and it uses a 2gl tank in the trunk.

I have a Snow w/m injection system on my Paxton ACR and it uses the windshield washer for the tank.

I would advise a w/m system for a 10# boost.
