OK! I have come to the grim conclusion that this whole system needs to be removed and put back where it belongs, in a dodge truck, 1994 by the way.

If anyone has upgraded their 2009 vert with the works amps/head unit/speakers let me know what would be the best to go with... was it a difficult install?

Thanks for any input.

With mine I put a new head unit in and that made a world of difference, I would consider keeping the alpine speakers in the car they are not to bad of a speaker. Also with with putting a different head unit in the car it helps with the eq and clarity. And because I'm a "kid" I have 2 diamond audio 12's with a memphis 1100w amp and a 2 farid cap in the trunk. Install was cake dash comes apart no problem. and depending on how much of an audiophile you are you can replace the factory amp with something a lil more plentyful. just my 2c for what its worth

My ACR came with the same radio that came in my `05 Dodge truck (bought in `04).

I think a full exhaust system would be the best upgrade I could buy....

99 R/T 10 - we had one bone stock `09 SRT hit 545 RWHP on the dyno during the Central TX round up last year. It belongs to Hi-Power here on the board. This was also on a day with 90% humidity and temps around 90. Not too shabby! The Mopar ECU & full Bellanger cars were in the 610 range on the 93 octane tune.

A stereo in a Viper? Thats Unique Whips stuff. Ferrari does not even go there. Maybe the 2012 model will learn and keep the junk out.:omg:

I think I'm on the path of just pulling the stereo and covering it with the ******** cover. I don't listen to the stereo much at all (if ever) and it's bordering on painful to look at. The stereo in my JGC is ten times better, and doesn't look anywhere nearly as cheapo as the one in the ACR. I'm kind of surprised they put these head units in these cars - at least in the GTS, the Alpine head unit was pretty classy at the time. Oh well, I'm pretty classless so I can't talk.

I guess to each, their own. I usually put a wicked audio system in every vehicle I own. Somehow, listening to the wind noise while driving my Vert just doesn't quite do it for me. Rather have tunes.

Obviously - some ******** Viper owners don't believe in stereo's in Vipers, probably the same ones who think Vettes are junk...same ones that get beaten by those Vettes on the track...
