Usually run Hoosiers, but I'm going to try the Pilot Sports this time around. First time on the track in a gen II GTS (lots of time in my '95) and I want to see what it's like in (mostly) stock trim before I begin using the Hoosiers.

So what I need to know is, does anybody out there have any good quickie alignment tips for running streets at the track? How about tire pressures? ... figure 70F and dry. Will pulling the front sport shims do any good with street tires? I'm actually more interested in finding a way to make the back end stick better. Yeah, it'll push horribly through a slow tight carousel, but I'm more concerned about keeping the rear planted at speed.

Bill Pemberton, don't you run Pilot Sports in your showroom stock racing? You should be an expert on this subject. Any tips would be appreciated.

Eric,
Couple of tips to assist you with your car.

Fairly aggressive set-up
1.9 degrees neg. camber in the front
1.5 degress neg. camber in the rear
0 toe-in in the front
1/8th of an inch ( total ) toe - in in the rear
6 degrees caster in front

tire pressure cold ( little higher with Sports due to the softer sidewall )

34 front & 30 rear

Less aggressive for street and track
1.5 degress neg. camber in the front
1.1 degrees neg. camber in the rear

The rest would be the same.
Hope this helps out, and let me know how you do!!!???

PS - Get and MGW short throw shifter for 25 extra hp.
