All,

I'm considering installation some subwoofers in the right and left "pockets" in the truck.

First question is, does this create a problem? I know that is where the "gills" are for the truck. If I remember correctly they are just pressure relief valves of sorts for when you close the back glass. Is that correct? And will I run into a problem by installation sub woofers in enclosed boxes in both of those pockets.

Second question is, what size subs have others run there? Do 12s fit or is it really only logical for something like a 10"?

Lastly, if people have put a sub on the left side, what did they do with the relays & fuses for the fuel pump that are back there?

Thanks for insights and suggestions.

The vents do relieve air pressure when closing the glass however, they also allow pressure to escape when air bags deploy. I have heard that if your air bags deploy while windows are closed, the glass will blow out/shatter if vents are blocked. I would not block off the vents.

Big'n in the middle. Terrible for balance and performance BTW, but if you need good tunes, you're going to increase rearward weight.
