I've gone and done it. I spent more money. :omg: So far this month I've bought a trailer to tow the viper, a new Infiniti QX56 to tow the trailer, a new Lexus as my daily driver, and now I've gone and ordered bellanger headers and random tech cat back to go along with the RT 3" cats that I had already bought. :crazy2: So much for paying down the home equity line. :flush:

I will not be installing the exhaust myself, but I was wondering if there are any other projects that I should really consider taking on while the car is torn apart for headers and exhaust install?

All help is appreciated.

Well, you did a GREAT job selecting the AWEsome trailer and the QX56--loved the pics of the trailer, never saw one that 'perfect'. We installed B&B stepped headers w/ceramic coating (stays cooler); Corsa track cat-back exhaust w/flow thru cats; also installed the VECII (now there is a VECIII) to program and adjust air/fuel ratios. Is the place you're bringing the Viper into have a dyno? If so, the VECII or III could be tuned and you'd know precisely how much HP/TQ you're putting out. Good Luck, as it seems whatever you choose turns to gold! ~juli~

You already have antilock brakes, should be about as good as it gets - check with Dave or Tom.

Get ported heads (I have Stage 4 from Greg Good - they are amazing), roller rockers, a computer reflash or upgrade, and make sure a competent tuner does the install and final tuning. It's all the difference in the world. Also might as well throw in smooth intake tubes while you're there.

It's a few thousand more to do these upgrades, but it's a different car once it's done. I'd never go back to stock.

Haha, welcome to the club, I did the same thing except but with the trailer came a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi to tow. I did the Belanger full exhaust and RT 3" cats also, pretty straight forward except the cats. First of all watch the cats flow direction, there is an arrow, I needed some welding but that was 6 years ago and I heard that problem was addressed, good luck your car will sound great. I did a before/after SAE dyno with just exhaust on my 2000 and gained 25 rwhp & 40 rwtq.

Heads & 1.7 T&Ds would be great if you really wanna do it right.
