OK so I've got the thermo houseing off, no big deal, now I can't get the thermostat itself out of the housing, it's loose but I can't get it an opening big enough for it to come out. Arrrggghh. I'm looking at the service manual & I don't see anything more than a normal swap I'm used to, get the sir box out of the way, undo the housing & take out the themo .... in what way am I being ********??? Hlpe please.

It's OK to share your embarassment - some of us will get a good laugh at you but some of us will feel you vicariously in a quiet manner. Some of us will simply note not to try to remove a thermostat.
