This person should have their Viper Privileges REVOKED!!

I'm out in Saint Louis on business this week and I decided to stop at the West County Mall where I witness this horrendous site of a Viper parked in a plain old spot in the Famous Barr parking lot. This person should have their Viper Privileges REVOKED!! This Vipers was filthy with white road dust all over it and the chrome wheels were so grimmy. I don't think it had been washed in months or ever.

This guy brought his viper in for service on Thursday afternoon. When I finished working on it, I washed it... I was a little disappointed in the appearance myself. I must say, it is nice to see it get driven instead of just sitting in the garage.

The act of driving the Viper and parking in a public parking lot instead of keeping the car covered inside a temperature and humidity controlled, locked garage, shows a lack of understanding of common Viper practice. When I think that this guy is probably out there right now actually putting miles on the car.... I'm sorry, it just breaks me up to think about it. The worst part is that he will probably do it again. Most of these people are repeat offenders who simply can't help themselves. It may be time for an intervention. Just think how he must treat his children.

I saw Viper abuse up close as well several years ago--it scarred me. Probably not the worst, but bad on a 93 RT/10. I saw the car after the owner had to sell it in order to pay for lawyers' fees. He subsequently went to jail for insurance fraud. He had under 15,000 miles and a bad piston, bad clutch, torn-up interior, and bugs and road grime implanted on the front fascia that had probably been there for at least a year. He also had several deep scratches all over the car, which he attempted to cover up with an off-color red touchup paint stick he probably got from Wal-Mart. The paint was really faded, something like you would see on a red '83 Dodge pickup. I guess it takes all kinds, but how do you purchase a car like that and just not care?

The back end of my 99 RT/10 stayed dirty. Wash it, drive it 10 feet, dirty. I assumed when I got the GTS that the aerodynamics would be different and keep the assend cleaner.....wrong. This one is just as bad. Short of MUDFLAPS, is there anything that can be done to divert the air/crap from the tires from collecting on the back? OK, so a bristle thingy like on a motorhome wouldn't be the most beautiful custom item to add on to a red GTS.

Houss couldn't be more right with his comment about it being a magnet for other cars. I can't tell you how many times I've parked mine 15 parking spaces away from the next closest car only to come back and be completely surrounded on all sides, so that there is a mini-island of cars in an otherwise empty part of the lot.
