A little off the topic, but I work on the same street that there is a Sheriff's station on (about a mile down.) A cop car drives by about every 10 mins or so it seems. Well I take the Viper out with it's incredibly loud exhaust system, and on my way back, I come to a stop sign to where I will make a right, onto this main street (the one where I work and the cops are.) I look left, there's a hill about 1/8 mi back, but no cars up to that point, so I go. Now this car has a tight clutch that is super sensitive (barely let out on it and the car leaps forward --- I stalled it several times when I first got it.) It requires a little more RPMS's to get it to go smoothly. As I pull out and am on my way to getting up to speed (45 MPH speed limit here) I see a cop fly up on my ass and turn his lights on. I literally laughed to myself, wondering what he was going to give me a ticket for, as I surely wasn't speeding and I didn't cut any cars off.
The copy walks over and aks for License and Registration and I give it to him and ask him what this is about, as I know I wasn't speeding -- I wasn't even done accelerating to get to the full speed limit. He says he pulled me over for 'Exhibition of Speed.' I'm like, "Huh? What!? " He says that I gunned it out of the corner and was showing off. I got pretty pissed as I in no way did this, no sudden acceleartion that is out of the norm for even a stock viper, no tire sqealing, no nothing. He goes on to say he heard the exhaust at which point I told him I just bought the car and the exhaust is extremely loud and that that's just the way the car sounds when you accelerate normally.
ANyway, long story short,I got a warning, and then he asked me how fast the car goes
I haven't been pulled over in years, and I have never been pulled over for something non-deserving (I always know why I am getting pulled over and usually deserve it.) Not this time.
Thought it was an interesting story, as it was my first police experience with the Five-O.
