just a few screws and some clips, actually very easy. first remove the knee bolsters, steering wheel, tilt lever, and mid console. remove the headlight dial and adjustable pedal dial then you got about six screws i think left, just pull it out after that.

The dash itself is not the problem. I felt very uncomfortable pulling the frame which goes around the airco knobs, shifter, etc...
Just be careful.

So i have everything taken apart taht i need to, the only part that i cannot disconnect is the light switch.... i disconnected its power, although i done know if there is a way to just take off the knob so i can slide teh dash off. the steering wheel is still on, do i have to take that off so it can all come off in 1?

yep my dash is carbon fiber and i finished installing it last week, the dash, steering column, rocker panels, airbag cover, and mid console. i also mounted a much better looking lineloc button (black) under the dimmer dial so now its the ultimate poser set up. i dont know how to post pics so if you want to post em for me tell me where to send em.

GENI or GENII?
GENI: There is a spring loaded button on the top of switch, push it and pull out on the knob at the same time.

GENII: At the bottom of the knob there is a small hole, put a pin in the hole and when it hits the end just push a LITTLE further to release a small plastic tap and the knob will come off.

If you just want to take the button off of the light switch you need some type of pin to push through the hole on the bottom of the knob. It will release a plastic latch and the knob pulls right out. Did you know the headlamp switch is the exact same part as used in the Ford Contour/Mystique just with a different knob.
