Hi,

I'm a french guy. Sorry for my bad english :(

I have a Viper SRT-10 and I want to drive my car on track days (Magny Cours, Le Mans...).

What is the best semi slick tires ? On my other car (Caterham CSR 200), I use Toyo R888 or Yoko A048.

Toyo R888 can fits on Viper SRT or not ? In which size for front and back (Toyo don't exist in 345 for back ;)

What's pressure (in PSI) ?

Thanks for your help :)

Greetings. Browse the section on Tires (about in the middle of the forums main page) and you will see lots of threads on this subject. Kumho is a popular choice. PSI will depend on the tire.

You may want to consider getting an extra set of wheels for track days and getting 18's all around. You have more options for rear tires with 18" wheels. Also, if you're just doing open track days, I would look into buying scrubs. They're a fraction of the cost of new tires.

Hoosier R6, Toyo R888, BFG R1, Kumho V700, all popular choices and available in 335/30-18 for the rear.

Hoosier R6 and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup are available in 345/30-19.

Ok for 18's all around. But I prefer Toyo R888 (275 front and 335 back) because I need semi slick tyres (Track and street) and not slick tyres like Hoosier (Track only). And i know very well Toyo R888.

What's the best wheels in 18" ? ACR Wheels ?

Best (lightest) 18 inch wheels are the SSR wheels.

I have had good luck with the Kumho V700 and Kumho V710 tires. The V700 has more tread than the V710 (V710 is track only tire.)

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup is a great track/street tire, but it is not made in 18 inch rear sizes any more. You will need 19 inch rear wheels to run the Sport Cup.

Do you get the V700s shaved and/or heat cycled, or just do track days "as is?" How many track days do they last for?
