I'm trying to figure out how to disconnect the hydraulic clutch line from the transmission. There is a red annodized connector at the end of the line that goes into the transmission, and a white plastic piece that it slides into. I have the tool, but don't know how to uncouple the line from the clutch slave cylinder. Do I push the white plastic piece in and pull the red piece out, or what?

Push in on the line, then push in on the white piece. I usually use the side of a screw driver blade. Sometimes they will come right off, other times it's a fight.

If you're not getting it apart, then maybe this comment needs to be repeated: when Tony says to push in on the line, he is saying to push the two ends you wish to pull apart towards each other first (wrong direction.) Then move the white ring to disengage the lock. If you pull on the hose it will make the white ring difficult to get into the position it needs to be.
