Trouble putting the hardtop on

Why does the passenger side of my hardtop never want to clip down? I've only had it on the car a couple times, but each time, I end up having to have someone actually lean on the corner of the top to push the clip thing down far enough in the hole so that I can turn the clip thing w/an allen wrench. The driver side locks in without any real problems. Also, no problems with the screws that bolt to the back of the car. Am I doing something wrong or is just part of the fitment issues that Gen 1 and 2's seem to have? The top is a double bubble, but I'm not sure from what manufacturer. I'd assume OEM though. The car was bone stock (well except for K&N's) when I bought it, so I doubt the owner had an aftermarket top.

Near about every car and / or top is different in fitment in some way or another.

Tight fit; I have to reach outside and pull down on the top at each front corner. Wouldn't have it any other way; you don't want it loose.

are the locking mechanisms properly adjusted?
the hooks are adjustable lenghtwise.
