The ground was obviously very wet with all the water flying in back of the cars. No wonder he spun out.

The ground looked to be dry. I believe the spay/mist is coming from the exhaust

Any car that emits that much smoke from the exhaust surely needs a rebuild. No chance in hell was that exhaust related. The back part of the pavement was wet. Notice how the Viper goes through it and then suddenly loses traction afterward. Secondly, since when was there a twin turbo '08 Viper? That is an '08 Viper and therefore not even turbocharged as viperspray suggests.

We all know there's no factory TT Viper, but there are a few '08's that have already had mucho work done. Do you really think a stock Viper would have a chance in a fastest streetcar shootout? I'm pretty sure that's a TT Hennessey car with 1100+rwhp.

I'm pretty sure that's NOT a customer car. I believe it's his own. As quoted from the man himself about the video,

"ha ha, well its just one of those physics things. our car was coming around the porsche when the driver hit the high boost button (1150 rw hp) and the car spun at about 125 mph. we had run high boost in 4th earlier in the day when it was warmer and it hooked up fine in 4th. but the cooler nite air gave us more power and less traction. also, there was a lot of dust on the runway which gets stirred up from the car in front." (as posted on the Alley)

Alex, it's Hennessey's car that was re-painted SSG, and I guess also has the 08 hood. He's posted pictures on the alley of it. The smoke *may* have been the car running rich, but since it was at night, it's hard to tell in the video.

It could have been dry debris, sand or something else that caused a loss of traction. Either way, it was not a good surface for traction. According to a member who posted above, it is an '06 Viper modififed to look like an '08. There are not any turbo '08 Vipers.

My guess is an oil line came loose.
If you watch the video in single frame, there's something burning under the car, forward of the rear wheels.
I gotta admit, saying it made so much power that it spun because "the driver hit the boost button coming out of the corner" sounds better than it spinning while going in a straight line because someone didn't tighten a line or a hose failed .....

You guys are clueless.............
what you are seeing in the video is dust! that is what caused it to spin out as the porsche in front stirred up lots of dust!

Plus they were told that this event was going to be run in a straight line, so they showed up running drag radials, then they tell everybody they are gonna run an autocross!

If they had known that ahead of time they would have brought their 2008 acr!

I should mention, the pic I put up was when it was going backwards and that was smoke going out from under the front.

You don't really think dust from the other car in front made the Viper spin, do you?
Having run several evants on runways, sure, looks like a normal dry and dusty runway, but that was an oil leak or coolant leak that caused that kind of spin. Most likely oil because of the burning under the car.

So the viper spins out and thats it. It does not even get the chance to redeem itself?:mad:There needs to be a rematch plus a video before the tt viper gets a bad name.Exspecially if its on tv.
