Seems like the Hwy Dept. uses salt brine at the very mention of snow and/or ice anymore...:smirk:

Therefore, it has been a long time since I have driven a Viper...or even detailed one. I was looking at some photos and thought I would post some photos of two of my "kids"....playing in the sun... back when I could drive them.:(:(

Thank You. I try to raise them the best I know how. The 06 is getting the implants.

It feels left out since the 01 was fitted last year... Only 300 miles and ready to breathe...

I think the 06 will be happy with e new "set of twins"...:D

What a handsome family!! Can we get a close up pic of the 06 exhaust outlet it appears to me that there is no room for expansion or growth as the car/exhaust heats up. I like the look of this. Do the chrome rings do something more than make it look great that I do not know about?

Wow. I guess I've been driving my cars more than you lately. Had the GTS out last Thursday and the Mamba out Friday (when it was 65) and over the weekend. I can't take them to work b/c that's the area where I've seen the salt on the roads.

The cars look great... no, more like stunning.. AS ALWAYS!!

The exhaust outlet is one of AP engineering's designs. It is part of the Street Serpent side sill.

The exhaust expansion issue is due to the installer. IMO. I have had a Corsa and a Mopar perf. exhaust. They both rattled etc. Even the Cor$a...
The exhaust system on my car is a custom Stainless 3 in. from manifold back. The custom system uses the good points (clamps, hangers etc) of several namebrand exhaust systems. When Justin installs them, he plans for the expansion. They might make a little noise for the first few minutes and then they are good.

I have seen where the exhaust outlet is positioned when the car is cold. The exhaust heats up, expands and rattles the sill...for the rest of the day...

If you set the exhaust outlet position when the car is warmed up, the car might rattle for a minute in the beginning, but then it is gone once the expansion takes place....:D

Best part is I get a full manifold back, 3+ in. custom fitted SS pipe, Magnaflow, installed, yes, installed for less than half the price of just the parts for a Corsa.

Several guys at VOI asked me what type of exhaust I had because they liked the sound.

I like the custom fit, the exhaust sound, the lack of sound(rattling pipes in side sill) and I like the decel "popping".

No cats so I really like the two ft long blue flames out the side. They really really got the attention of a bike I was racing. His front tire was at my
rear tire as I shifted into third and....:firedev:

Man, that was fun...

How does it sound compared to the Corsa? Maybe we could get a group buy and you get the finders fee for 10+ units! :D :D

I wouldn't mind. I held the Striker heads group buy. The forum has new rules now. JMB will need to become a sponsor to execute a group buy. Not that he wouldn't, just that he's not now.

To be honest, I think the key is the installer. BUT at $750 w/install, the parts are a huge savings. I believe the SS is a litttle thicker than my corsa too.

I contacted the installer and he is game for the GB. He is going to check the sponsor requirement to do so. He told me $600-700 tops if there are ten. Install included if you are near "the Loo"...:)

I may be traveling through MO(St. Louis) in April. If he is near, that might be doable :2tu:

Does he use a nice set of Stainless tips?

The photos pretty much answer your questions. The installer "planned" on the heat expansion. Because the tips are slightly bent down, it is hard to see the expansion space. (last photo)

96' GTS B/W, intake matched smoothtubes, ceramic headers, full 3" Borla cat delete exhaust, crossed drilled slotted rotors, and Nitrous and a few other tweeks and add ons...
Taking it to the dyno next week to get some numbers, wish me luck...

Good Luck. Not too sure how much those cross drilled rotors will show up on the dyno though...;):D;)
